Default 235 tires on front oem rims

I don’t think there will be a problem, but would appreciate a little input. I have a chance to buy new 235 (/45/18) Michelin Sports and thought they should be close enough to oem 225s to not be a problem. Thanks for any replies.

do you have tcs or vdc, because that taller tire may affect it. @MicVelo is better with this stuff and he will throw in his tire knowledge

Well, somehow I’ve been demoted to a “new member” status so my profile image disappeared. Lol. I’ve got an ‘07 Enthusiast, so it does have TCS. Thanks again, Trav.

I don't know. If I were to go with 235 on the front, it would be a 235/40.

1.5 inches short height wise, and almost 2 inches shorter in circumference ... not sure how that would play with tcs or vdc if the car has it

Thanks, guys for the replies. I’ve decided to just stay with the stock size.

Oh. I didn't think of it that way. I was thinking of the visual profile.

Just for future reference, there are two 18" tires for the front that are "standard fitment": 225/45-18, 245/40-18. Note Nismo 18" front uses the latter on 9" wheel.

One or two sizes for 19" front wheels: 245/35 or 255/35-19

You can play with sizes - like doing 35 aspect tires on 18s but make sure they are both 35 aspect ratio, e.g. 245/35 and 275/35 to maintain the F/R size/wheel speed delta at 3% +/- 0.25% on TCS (sorta) and VDC (mandatory) cars to avoid unwanted triggering of traction system(s). But honestly, don't see any practical reason to deviate as such given the shorter height/smaller diameter tire creating wheel gap and the steering response gain is not that big of a deal. Just sayin'.
