Default Looking for a machine shop to do engine work on a de

Been looking for a while to get my block machined and heads ported. Haven't been able to find anywhere local as they all basicly exclusively work on v8s or Honda motors. Wondering where q good place I could send it off to would be. Around the Kansas city area would be ideal but not required. Looking to get the block squared and flattened as well as whatever else it may need. Any help is appreciated.

The Car Wizard always says good things about Martin Machine Co in Wichita Kansas. I'm not sure if they do performance machine work though (porting), the Wizard uses Martin Machine primarily for factory refresh work. But based on what I have seen on The Car Wizard's channel, they do excellent work, it might be worth giving them a call to see if they can do what you want. Not exactly local, but not very far either. If you look further out, a shop I would recommend near me (in CA) is Rebello Racing Engines. These guys are experienced with Japanese engine builds, namely Datsun/Nissans.
Cheers!

I'd suggest looking up Jesse Prather Racing in Kansas. Prather has built winning SCCA engines, and is certainly capable of quality machine work.

Careful having work done on the block or heads. Any decking that's done will mess with the variable valve timing. You MUST have a tuner who can fix the valve timing if you deck the heads or block. At the Nissan dealership, because we can't do custom tunes, only factory reflashes, we have to replace heads if they're warped. We can't machine them.

MY plan was to add the lost height with a thicker head gasket. So I don't have to worry about that. Does that work the way Im thinking or was I mistaken

It does. But be careful with that. Don't do too much.

How much is too much on these motors? Just a ballpark
