Hi all,
I've been having this buzzing sound for quite a while. But over the years it has been increasing, You can hear it clearly from this video. https://youtube.com/shorts/Uj42Voozh_E?feature=share
The noise happens randomly while revving between 1k up to 4k RPM. Above 4k rpm the noise goes away.
Any ideas from what this noise may be coming from ?
- could it be a rattling heat shield ?
- some vibration from exhaust?
- clutch/flywheel ?
Maybe someone had a similar sound. Its getting more frequent across rpm's from 1 to 4k now and I have to look in to it as this buzzing is too much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers

Just sounds like exhaust resonance vibration to me. Really can't tell from the location of the recording device. Inspect your exhaust piping, make sure you don't have metal to metal contact with the chassis/suspension. Make sure the flange bolts are nice and tight. Make sure the cat heat shields are also tight. I've never personally witnessed loose heatshields on a 350Z, but it can happen. If you have the stock manifolds, check those 1st, then move down to the chassis heatshields around the cats (floor pan).
Good Luck!
