Don't have a Z yet, hopefully next Jan after I graduate college, but I've had my accord for 4 years, not one ding b/c I'm like you guys. The other day I left my car parked biased towards one side b/c I was at the edge. An old guy backs his tundra in next to me with plenty of space and sees me get out of my car. I come back later to see my door dinged by his truck, guaranteed. His paint even came off on mine. I give him a few nice loooong deep key scratches on his door. I mean, he had PLENTY of room and saw me coming out of it.

I've had my Z for 5 months now, and I still park as far away from everything as possible. It's my daily driver, so I go everywhere with it, but (knock on wood) I have been very lucky in keeping it pristine. Even at my own apartment complex, I park in an area at the far end (still within view of my apt window), and park across two spots. My roomate with his brand new F350 now does the same thing. I will run barefoot through torrential downpour (south florida) before parking close to buildings near others! lol

Little late to the game, but I feel the same way. All my friends and my girlfriend shakes their heads and can't understand... they just don't understand my passion.

I have no problem with door dings but I DO have a problem with my bumpers b/c I parallel park everyday. I take end spots (the last meter) and give the guy 5-6 feet. Once I came out and saw a POS civic squeeze into my 5-6 feet of buffer b/c the guy behind him parked far back in his metered spot. Gave me some license holes in my bumper. I wanted to take a baseball bat and go to town.

Now I park 3 feet - still plenty of room but not enough for someone to try to make a new parking spot.

engiNERD350Z - I've been tempted to key the hell out of so many a$$$oles in the last two months of ownership but then I'd be as bad or worse then them.
