Hard to generalize. Many mfgrs "say", "fits both Z33 and Z34 regardless of engine" (to include both chassis.) Some make specific units for the different generations (due to integrated cats or use with specific cats, that sort of thing). Suggest you check specific vendors/mfgrs for whatever it is you need. Some vary but in general, primary pipes are 2.5" with a collector pipe of 3" out to the mid- and tailpipes.
What is alleged (no hands on), flow wise, is the OE HR and VHR Y-pipe are supposed to have better flow than the earlier DE specific units. (But IMO, unless on dyno or tuning, differences will be negligible in day to day operation.)
Aft of the Y-pipe, however, configurations are very different between Z33, Z34 and the various G and Q Infinitis. This is fact.
