Hey guys, I have a 2003 Nissan 350z, I currently have high flow cats and a y-pipe, but I was looking to get a axleback exhaust for the car, probably straight pipe (mostly for looks) but I really don't like the look of a single exit, and all of the dual exit axleback exausts that I have seen are absolutely insane, I think partly because there is also a muffler included... any thoughts on a decently priced axleback exhaust?? or should I attempt to make one myself using my dads harbor freight welder (never welded before, so I don't have any experience)... or maybe an exhast shop?? Any feedback is appreciated thanks!

There was a person within the last two weeks "advertising" his upcoming exhaust pipes. I didn't think there was much to it (given so many options on the market already) but maybe you might find something you like there.

Z1 has a couple of new offerings in the past year. there's an alternate version of their straight single exit with a second pipe. If you just want to add weight to your car, but it is a look thing. And they have a touring version that's more show car looking. I believe the dual exit simple pipe version is fairly affordable. I'm just going to cut the lower portion of the rear bumper cover off so I don't care about how it looks.

I get the weight thing, but my thought is, if im deleting the massive muffler, and just adding like 2 or so ft of metal piping, in the end im subracting weight, and I just dont like how single exits look personally

Z1 has irritated me multiple times in the past couple years, starting with overcharging sales tax. I've been doing more business with CZP who are more friendly, reasonable about shipping off-road parts to CA, and don't steal an extra 1% at the end of the transaction. they have a decent dual pipe exhaust for too much money. CZP has several options. I think the dual exit at an angle looks cool versus going straight back.

What I'm wondertis if OP has everything through the Y-pipe then don't you need a midpipe; that is a Y-pipe back set up. CZP does have a couple. One by Invidia, other, ???

But if you want straight pipes, just take it to a muffler shop that does custom bending and do it up.It should be less expensive than purchasing.
