Help with Convertible Top
Hey all hope everything is well. I recently replaced my convertible top, it came all ripped up and I was able to get the replacement on relatively well for the most part. The only issue was I did not take note of how the fabric pieces on the underside of the top go around the frame roof bars. I thought I would be able to re route them properly but I was not. Does anyone have a picture of how to route these or can offer insight on this? The top also does not go all the way down, I am thinking this is due to worn out straps or no straps on the one bar? I see the straps that came with the new top in the garage so it looks like I forgot that step.
Any insight is appreciated of course, thanks in advance,
Kevin

What replacement top did you get? When I did mine, there were flaps of fabric on the interior side that simply wrapped around the horizontal bars (if those are the "frame roof bars" you're referring to). Also, you most definitely need to have those elastic straps that are riveted to the bars in order for the top to operate properly.

Thanks for the reply. I got mine off eBay nothing special. The fabric that goes around the roof bars I do need to get wrapped right and the links and pics u provided should help. But the elastic bands are not the issue. That functions and folds up the related bar no problem. So my issue is elsewhere. Here are some pics. The latch is also catching on the rear rollbar cover thing and scratching it when it opens as well. The back window is not retracting up away enough and also it must not be folding up properly when going down. It looks like that last bar above the window is slightly bent, we had a storm and a branch may have fell on it, no other damage though. Here are some pics maybe based on these someone can see if that is my issue. I may have to take the top off and fix the bent bar right above the back window as I can see the window does not fully retract because I can see tracks and stoppers and it’s not reaching the end of its limit. Now that the weather is breaking I want to get this fixed of course hah.

Thanks for the reply, and the link. Using the pictures from the thread and another thread I found I was able to get the fabric routed properly and the roof working again!
