When it came time to replace driver rear hard line on my 2004 Track Edition, we ran into several issues most annoying one was the driver side rear was the only discontinued line Nissan stoped manufacting
---
the threading was destroyed thanks to the aluminum calipers and the bolts Nissan used, and the bleed screws were stuck and seized. My options were to either buy the Z1 Motorsports swap, go with an Akebono swap, or try some remanufactured Brembos that have been circulating. These remanufactured Brembos are hit or miss — some people report perfect quality, while others have problems. I doubt they’re real Brembos, but all the hardware fits, including the pads, rotors, and hard lines.
The issue I’m facing now, after switching from OEM Brembos, is that there’s about a quarter-inch of pedal travel before the brakes engage. This might be due to the brake lines I used (which weren’t name-brand), or perhaps I need to replace the master cylinder with the Z1 unit, or maybe even both.
That said, the car drives perfectly, and the brakes catch better than the OEM Brembos. The only issue is the slight extra pedal travel before engagement. I’m not sure if I’m the first person to try using these TRQ 4-pot calipers (meant to be a direct fit for OEM Brembo calipers), but I’d appreciate any input.
For context, I used rubber lines, all OEM Nissan hard lines, and the original Brembo master cylinder. The work was done perfectly, so I’m just trying to figure out what might be causing the play in the pedal. I’ll post the brand of calipers I used as well. Gold calipers were original red are the TRQ witch only were 400 dl

TRQ fake brembo replacement Wheel well fitting, weighed the calipers out the box the weigh is damn near exact to OEM brembo the seals & pistons look better made Used OEM brake lines thinking maybe I should of used stainless steel, could that be the problem with the half of inch of travel? After install Originally calipers could not bleed, bleeder screw was seized Could not bleed front left either same problem. Also problem with threading on almost every caliper Trq replacement
Swapping to stainless braided lines will likely give you a firmer pedal feel under load, not reduce pedal travel.
Do these calipers have both inside and outside bleeders? I would double bleed all the calipers.

Yes they are exact copies of the brembos the only difference you could tell is with the Allen bolts around the outer of the caliper are different shape, so do you think the master cylinder is pointless with my issue? The master cylinder for Z1 i think it's called the centric brembo master cylinder claims it holds more fluid under higher pressure.

The master cylinder for the Brembo systems had a larger bore (1.0626"]https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/my350z.com-vbulletin/1080x1108/screenshot_20241124_130837_chrome_cd5d9ea3a68313f729df2e0ac1 044203d42c3c76.jpg[/img] This is what is quoted The master cylinder for the Brembo systems had a larger bore (1.0626") than the non-Brembo systems (1" bore). The brake boosters were also different: The Brembo-equipped systems had a dual diaphragm booster while the non-Brembo-equipped systems had a single diaphragm boost Very little difference in looks & weigh 2.8 grams more then OEM brembos TRQ fake brembo replacement, very surprised in build quality All OEM lines work with the TRQ so they can be used to do a full big brake swap for under 600 in parts-on all 4 corners If anyone is in the tri-state area and is handy & can rethread these brembos full set no hardware they can have them for free, have all 4 front two all threads are good but can't open one bleeder screw, the rear mount threads for OEM lines also need to be rethreaded or just use stainless steel lines. My loss is your gain. Anyone in NY area who wants a free brembo caliper set with hardware up for graves worked perfect for me until It came time to rebuilt seals and repaint them, have all 4, front two seals good all threads are good but can't open one bleeder screw, the rear 2 seals are good, brake line bracket mount threads for OEM lines also need to be rethreaded or just use stainless steel lines.
