K&N drop in filters + induction noise (2008 HR)
It's really down to the Injen or JWT at this point
Just a bit of "noise" but more specicially , a slightly loudsr but much deeper and rumbling note when accelerating, that I loved on my old 2004 DE with the K&N typhoon intake. It's actuslly why I was initially looking at the K&N intakes for the HR but got dissuaded due to what people said about their oiled filters.

1. JWTs will have K&Ns so if you want to submit your engine to what you saw in the video it's up to you.
2. Injens from CZP dry and worry free.
3. You could go AEM or Nismo (same) and both available as a dry variant.
Quick clip of those.
Ok, so with that said, the bigger ones are out, since they require a tune.

Thanks again. I think I'll go with the Injens as thry seem the most reputable. what bothers me is i literally couldn't find even a single video of them on an HR.
Yeah, unfortunately everyone is on the CAI train, because they cant stand the idea of having 5hp less lol. Too much comprises for 5hp IMO.
Update: getting Injens intake delivered tomorrow ans will update thread when installed
What's odd is thst there is virtually NO vidoes or posts or even pictures of the injen short ram 350z HR intakes online. Not yourube, or Google, or even here on these forums. I found one pic of it installed but no reviews or anything at all. This makes me a bit worried

I don't think he meant it that way, it's just hard to buy stuff blind. I've bought stuff before like that, it's worked out OK this far. My headers are very hard to find videos of and so was my exhaust, I dont need to tell you this but the HR and DE sound differently and the ONE video on my exhaust is found was on a HR car. Sometimes you need to take a leap of faith.
so I'm optimistic, and everyone here seemed to highly recommend the injen long tube cold air intake over any other CAI, so I'm hoping the injen short ram is also good quality

At the very least, I got the injen for less than $400 and not the $550-600 it's listed literally everywhere else. So if it turns out to be a dud I'm only down $400 instead ot 550+
So..... Yay ?
Probably one of the reasons why you haven't seen many reviews of the Injen short ram intakes as opposed to the long intakes is because people that modify the intake or go aftermarket are looking for performance gains and not noise. The old adage of 'cooler air being better' results in people going with the longer tubes which sucks in cooler air from the bumper.
If you want some noise, hit up your boy Bubb Rubb.
The whistles go Wooo Wooooooooooo!
