Pros and Cons about owning a Z???
this can be a con but its not for me:
the car is a two seater which means if you have kids they can't ride in it or if you and two of your friends want to go out some where and you want to drive your ride, you have to take two cars
another con is:
that the 350z doesn't come stock turbo
one more con is:
that you will be mistaken for someone who drives a euro car "hey buddy...I like you porsche"
I get that alot by old people

Buyer beware!! Nissan still has no FIXXXXXXX!!!!
From a 350Z owner that has had enough!!! and there are hundreds on this site, go look under repair!

What are the Pros and Cons about owning a new Z???
What are the common problems with the car???
For the '03 model year (if you're buying used)
1. Tire Feathering
2. Pulling to the right
3. Grease Streaks on Windows
4. Various annoying rattles/squeaks
5. Tranny shifting notchiness/grinding
6. Bose Amplifier problem
7. Gas cap not opening properly
8. Abnormal/Excessive Seat wear (cloth)
9. Lack of factory installed airbag on/off switch for pass. side Airbag
10. Generally poor service/responsiveness from Nissan
11. Abnormally prone to paint chipping/poor paint quality (for a ~30K car)
For the '04 models:
1. Various annoying rattles/squeaks
2. Tranny shifting notchiness/grinding
3. Abnormal/Excessive Seat wear (cloth)
4. Lack of factory installed airbag on/off switch for pass. side Airbag
5. Abnormally prone to paint chipping/poor paint quality (for a ~30K car)
I'm sure others will complete my list, but I think I got all the biggies.....The '03's had some serious problems with tire alignment/wear, and I think Nissan's response to the problem has probably cost them alot of customers, but I've not heard of any '04 owners with the problem. With the exception of the Tranny issues, most of the CON's for the '04 are livable.
Now for the PRO's......
1. The car is really damn fun to drive
2. The car is really damn fun to drive
3. The car is really damn fun to drive
4. Well....You get the idea.....
My impression for owning a 03 performance....
20,000KM
Cons
1. oil streak on windows when rolled up
2. uneven tire wear and excess tire noise (possibly worsened by me lowering the car 2 inches)
3. tranny notchiness
4. Vehicle Dynamic Control, damn annoying when you are racing, first to second gear shift with VDC has no power at all.
5. Interior looks identical as some of the cars in its bloodline, Maxima, Murano...etc.
6. For a sports car that is only one level behind the SKyline, it has some very cheap-a## looking key.
7. Impossible to drive in even the smallest snow fall.
Pros
1. good acceleration over 3000rpm
2. attractions TONS of attention, people think is a super car (I think it depends on the color though)
3. fun to drive
4. lots of torque upon exiting corners
5. highway acceleration is addictive
6. beautiful exhaust sounds
7. lots of aftermarket parts available
8. ITS A Z

I have a 04 Z' The car does not pull to the right and the tires do not feather. Nissan has fixed the problem in the 04 models. Some people do not know how to drive a sports car, that is why they have all of these problems.
Think is because I dont' try to rip out my tranny whenever I race. Some people shifts way too hard, thinking that hard is fast...but I've seem way too many people who f##k up their tranny this way.
Developing a good habit of driving manual sports car is crucial, if you want avoid all sorts of problems down the road.
Plus, isn't tire feathering due to the negative camber of the Z's set up?? Any car with adjusted camber would develop uneven wear or feathering...
Just my two cents.

Well you pretty much got a good run down on the cons but overall I love this car. Honestly the people who complain about how bumpy the ride is shouldnt have gotten a sports car they sould have gotten a lexus instead. So if you really want a SPORTS car than for the price the Z is at and the power id say you cant beat it. If you want a mix of power and luxury go with the RX-8. I test drove the rx-8 and it is very nice inside has 4 seats good suspension and overall has pretty good power. Oh yah the G35 is also very luxurous and nice ride check that out also if you want a mix of luxury and sport.
I'm a new owner myself, but I think I've got a pretty good opinion of it. I would have to say for me there are two cons, no switch for the passenger air bag( can be bought seperately)and the possible tire wear issue. I knew about it before I bought the car,but I decided it was a better car than my 03 Cobra, which had a ton of problems. I know some count two seats as a con, but thats not fair as you know that before you purchase it and it is a true sports car anyway. As far as the pros, first it had to be a sweet car for me to buy my first product outside of Ford in 12 years. The styling, handling, braking, comfort, and smoothness of the car are all pros especially if you get the Touring with leather and such options. I could go on about it, but the pros out weigh the cons easy to me.
Thanks Mike
Thanks Mike
pros:
chick magnet
good sounding exhaust stock
good acceleration
looks more expensive than it is
lots of mods available\
parts bin motor, so parts arent outrageous
cons:

Pros:
- lots of positive attention
- good power
- great exhaust note
- great handling
- great looks
- chassis feels very solid
Cons:
- cheapy interior
- lots of road and engine noise (engine doesn't sound smooth, my Max w/the same engine sounds WAY smoother)
- very bumpy/bouncy ride
- pretty lousy stock stereo
- heavy steering
- little cargo room and no extra seats
- hard to see very far back (for cops) thru the center rear view mirror
- low to the ground, so you need to watch it when parking to not scrape/smash the front bumper's lower lip
Yeah yeah, some of the cons are inherent to sports cars, but hey, I listed them.

its a very sexy looking ride with nice curves, kind of reminds me of a female (I guess thats why I like getting in it
also their r so many aftermarket parts for it that you can personalize it to be your own 350z

Speaking only for my Z:
Pros: It is really fun to drive; It has no back seat; It makes me smile a lot; The front view is really great; I grin when I start it up; It really looks good from the rear; It's red; It's pleasure/cost quotient is really high; It has a great profile; I feel younger when I drive it (I'm 65); Even at 65, women still ask me about it; and, it is, without question the best sports car buy I've ever come across (I've owned a 260Z, 3 280ZX's, a TR7, a T-Bird, a Z28 and a Corvette).
Cons: I'm not going to be able to take it with me.
Yes, I'm sure that if I had the recurring problems some have had, I wouldn't be saying the above. But I don't, so I am.
