A gift for all 350Z's
Since no one's mentioned it yet, I have to point out that every download and copy of the service manual is a violation of international law that subjects the person providing the copy, and possibly the owner of this board, to civil and criminal penalties. There's nothing stopping Nissan from launching some lawsuits the way the RIAA sued music downloaders.
Ask yourself if you would walk into a dealership and steal a $200 part off their shelf. No? You're not a thief? Well, if you've downloaded one of these illegal copies, that's exactly what you've done.
If you really need a copy of the service manual, walk into your dealership and buy the CD (or books) legally.
Ripping off Nissan for a $200 manual is a crime, not a gift.
Off to put on my asbestos suit...

Of course it's a crime. I accept that fact. If everyone that is a member on this board downloaded the manual instead of buying it (assuming they would normally buy it) that would be about $5 Million (25,000 x $200). Considering Nissans operating profit, thats a drop in the bucket. And I know everyone here has NEVER done anything illegal before.

Stealing from rich people or companies is okay, because they can afford it? So you don't mind if I steal one of your wheels? You can afford a $35,000 car, and the wheel only costs about $500, that's a drop in the bucket. I'll be over at about 3 a.m.
And you also think that once someone has committed any crime, that makes it okay to go off and commit more?

The service manual was created for a Nissan mechanic to work on the car. Since profits from the sale of vehicles has dwindled down in recent years, delearships must make up for the lost revenue in other areas, and the repair department is a logical area. Nissan obviously prefers, and profits, to have their own people use the manual and I believe the outrageous price they charge is to dissuade the car owners and other shops from working on the cars themselves. IMHO, they should give everyone a copy of the disc with the purchase of the car, as they must create the CD for their mechanics anyway.
BTW, Nissan ripping you off for $200 on a $30 repair is a crime too!

While not condoning theft, I will say that Nissan did it to themselves. I would've paid $60 without thinking about it. That's what my Supra's manual cost me. I would've even paid $100. No way I'm paying $300 which is what one dealer quoted me, especially for a soft copy. If Nissan would charge $90 for a hard copy or $60 for a soft copy, I'll bet most of you would buy it. It's almost like Nissan priced it so people like us wouldn't buy it.

Can somone send me a "sample" so I can preview this manual. If it is worthwhile, I will send Nissan a check. Does anyone have the address i should send my money to?
