it's feels slower because the server will wait until all pics are loaded before displaying to you the thread. With the old site, the pics would progressively load while your viewing the thread.

dvlad is right. It may truly be faster but the perception is that it's a bit slower. Oh well, it looks good keep up the good work!

Not to come off as critical; I really like the new design and I am sure a lot of work was put into it, but it is definately slower. Even when viewing threads with no pictures it takes far longer to open.

Again, not a complaint, as I am grateful that this forum exists, just an observation and answer to the original question.

Just as a point of reference, it's taking me 30 - 40 seconds to open up a tread...... On a T1 line.

My sentiments, exactly. I'm doing over 5megs download speed and it's slow to me.

It is so much worse than before that this might finally cure me of my addiction to this site. I can't stand staring at a black screen for such a long time before seeing anything. I have really fast connections at home and at work, but I still get lots of waiting with black empty screens. I enjoyed the site, but now I am thinking of spending my time doing other things instead.

I'm sharing the frustration here, I love this site, but the slowness thing is killing me!!! Is there any way to go back to the other method of loading pages?

Could just be an issue of working out the kinks in the new look and the new server. With any drastic site change there are sure to be a few hiccups...

I agree. The new admins should revert to the settings where the page text displays before all the graphics are done loading. Doh!

Knock on wood, but I haven't noticed a difference in speed at all.
