The Enthusiast is definitely the best bang for your buck. If you like the small things like HID lights, cruise control, garage door opener, then I would say pick the Enthusiast over the Base. If you're on a really tight budget, I would probably suggest looking for a Base model under MSRP and when you have extra cash, aftermarket HIDs and the garage door opener can be installed later.

As far as the LSD and traction control issues go over the debate between the Base and Enthusiast, I don't believe in them. I have a Base and drive and the Florida thunderstorms all the time and never have I lost traction (I've never driven in snow, but it might be a help). I've never had the LSD feature so I'm not missing anything I haven't had.

Definitely go with the Enthusiast. I felt that the cosmetic changes and the HIDs alone were worth the upgrade from the base. And having spent all of my winters in Jersey (except for the couple I spent in Maryland), TCT and LSD definitely come in handy in the Z.

And there's plenty of room to upgrade on your own.

I agree, enthusiast is the "Most bang for the buck" trim. H.I.D's and LSD

Hey Jason,

Do forum members still get the $1200 discount off of MSRP when purchasing a Z through Perfomance?

Thanks for the info.

It would be soooo dope if I could drive off with a brand new Z at the meet next Saturday But unfortunately, it probably won't happen.

Yep, Enthusiast is the way to go if you plan on upgrading your wheels and such. I also plan to get some kind of BBK in the future so that wasnt a question for me either.

The upgrades you get form base to enthusiast are worth a lot more then the money difference between the two. It really is a great deal.

HID, LSD, TCS, cruise control, racing pedals, homelink system with auto dimming rear view mirror, all for less then 1,500!! Great deal IMO.

I higher model is simply a question of if you want VDC or not.
