Or when people put their hand out of the window, and hold on to the painted upper painted portion of the door, putting their stupid hand prints on it.

Or.. When somone comes up to say nice car while I am in it, and they rest their hand in that SAME area to lean over to talk to me! WTF is wrong with them!

I'v also gotten this.

I JUST finish cleaning my car, after speding a few hours or more on it. The neighbor comes up and comments on how clean the car is, as the TOUCH IT to see how smooth it is! And not even with the back side of their finger.

HAha, looks like I started the rant about what you don't like people doing to your car thread.

I completely sympathize with all the plights stated here... one of the worst though is people that just casually lean up on your car looking for a place to rest

And should they have any metal buckles or buttons on their clothing...

Or...

"Oh, looks like you got a spot there"

Person licks finger and then proceeds to clean the spot of dirt.

OR if the car is dirty... Someone decides to take their finger and swipe their finger against the surface as they tell me my car is dirty ( as if I don't know already )

And doing so, they make fine scratches in the paint! ( black car )

The worst I've had so far is someone opened their door into my driver side car door. There is a *tiny* ding on the crease on the door.... its really not noticeable but I see it every time I approach my car from that side *sigh*.

Anyways, I went into a hollywood video to turn in some movies and I come out and some punk kids (maybe 15-17) are hanging out in the parking lot skating. And ONE of them is sitting against the rear bumper of my car with a chain running from his belt to his pocket, trying to look "cool."

He's about 5'10" and I'm 5'6". So I walk right up to him and get in his face and told him to get the F*** off my car NOW.

Luckily he wasn't sitting ON the chain so it didn't scratch anything.

He was pissed off and started taunting me but didn't stick around after I started walking towards him.

Yes people touch my car, and I am glad to know they take the time to envy it; stop and look at it. It would freak me out to see someone touch it though.

I have NO idea, but this girl I've been hanging out with ALWAYS slams the door, even after I remind her not too.

I flinch everytime she does it.

I get pissed when I see flyers stuck to my windshield. They put it right in the middle, so I know they leaned over the fender with their metal zippers and buttons. It's happened to me three times in my parking garage at work. I swear if I catch someone leaning over my car to put a flyer on my windshield, I'm going to make them swallow it.

I caught a lady putting a flyer under my windshield wiper, just as she she slammed the wiper back down, I started yelling to get the *** away from my car. the lady was about 5'2 and had to rub her entire body (she was wearing a big winter coat) up against my car to reach the windshield wiper, she put some small but noticeable scratches in my drivers side fender. She snapped back at me that if i didn't like what was on the flyer that I throw it away. I took the flyer, called the number and made the owner of the business pay 200$ to detail the scratches out of my car. ironically, the owner of the business was the flyer lady's husband. boy, did that feel good.

last time someone was looking in my car i was sitting in a diner, it was a 40 year old guy and his 15 year old son, i held down the remote button to open the windows for them so they could get a better look and yelled out the door to "go ahead, check it out, sit in it if you like". If they would have been a couple of punk 20 year olds, I would have yelled "get away dirtballs"

I to have let people sit in my car. But oviously it is someone that looks trustworthy to me.

About flyers, I have not gotten one of those yet.. BUT.

People ALWAYS stick buisness cards in between the drivers side window and the rubber trim. What if the damn card slips inside? Hmm, maybe I have a few in there now .. lol.

I guess that is better then someone leaning over the fender though.

I don`t mind the hand prints on the windows myself. I think it`s kinda funny. I think I`ve actually done it myself when seeing a park Ferrari 360 Modena.
It reminds me of the Z ad were the little kid is peering into the driver side window. I carry a cloth in my console box to wipe it off though :-)
As long as it`s just the window, no problem :-)

You guys sound like suchhhh babies its rediculous. The seatbelt thing is a great point. My friend chipped my tint on my old car from letting go of the seat belt. But fingerprints? its a car.. get it washed. Anybody can put any flyer on my car they want.. unless they leave a large obnoxious scratch.. its just a car.. its a Z not a ferrari. Im not trying to be insulting.. but i also dont want to sound like a wannabe and act like the Z is so precious.. although it might look 80.. its a 30-40 at most grand car.

I dont care if someone touches my Z, It's just a car.

This car has that something that attracts people.

I think thats why most people bought it.

I say we are lucky to own a car most people would love to own.

What I cant stand is parking lots

are you being sarcastic? if not....you hold down the unlock on the remote and the windows will go down.

and if you didn't know that then you probably don't know that you can load-all or unload-all 6 cd's if you hold down the corresponding buttons on the cd player....

oh man.. i feel for the SB's here. fingerprints show up like no tomorrow. It just ruins the look of the car. also, when there's dust on it, it may cause some light scratches if they drag their finger across.

Wow! So are you saying that 30-40K is not that much money??? Where exactly is the cut off point where it's ok for someone to vandalize your property (intentionally or not)? 41K? Or maybe 42K?

Your comments completely blow me away! I agree that "yes" it is a car, but personally 30-40K is A LOT of f**king money, but that's really not the point. The point is that it's a matter of respect. I don't care if you drive an AMC Pacer... it still does not mean that it's "ok" for someone to touch, scratch, smudge, wipe, smear, or otherwise mess with it, does it?

To most Z owners'... no, I am not going to generalize here even though I know that I could. To ME, my Z is precious! It may not be an $80,000 car, but you know what? it's worth a lot more than that to me!
