Default Blown lifters on trunk!

Anyone else have this problem? Both sides are blown leaking hydrolic fluid. The hatch now feels like it is made of cement!

Mine are starting to go. No fluid leaks though. Also, I think they are gas pressurized struts, and the fluid may just be the grease from the seals.

Reminds of that penguin joke...

When I "pop" the hatch, it no longer pops, and sometimes I need to manually lift it while pressing the release button to make sure it unlatches.

I will probably take it in along with a couple other minor things. I have had the car for 1.5 years and have 31,000 miles now.

yup Ive had mine the same length, not that many miles though.

mine also doesnt always unlatch itself when I pop it, but only in cold weather does it do that. now that its warm out, no problems.

I have the same problem with having to manually lift the hatch while holding the unlatch button on the car. Come to think of it, it just started when the temperature dropped here. Maybe it is just a cold weather thing.
