Built in Antenna
AC outlet relocated
Center console compartment moved away from elbow
LED brake lights
Brake light lens and film covering like BMWs
19" Rays wheels
HIDs on base model!!!

EDIT: one more thing. Key proof paint...maybe powder coat the car? LOL

Sounds like a lot of people should have bought the G35C instead! That would solve most of these gripes.

I love this car...I love the quirky antenna, I like the idea of offset tires, and as much as the cup holders and power points are a pain, I'd still leave them the way they are! You don't appreciate the sweet, if you don't taste the bitter!

Mod away friends...personalize your car and enjoy!
Thats what I was thinking, but more along the lines of maybe an econobox like a civic? These guys would find problems with the G.

since 2004 fixes some of the thing i dont like about the 350Z..

Here is what i think needs fixing

Better Quality interior. The Door panels arent really as bad as you think.. There plastic sure, But i dont think there the cheapest plastic possible. The center dash area (were stereo is). That is the cheapest palstic possible i think :P. So if they would just redisgn the center dash and the door panels (put some leater on the door panels thats all!) That would be great

The front of the car IMO is its weak spot in the looks department. A small redisgn of the headlights and the front bumper would help alot.

I actually sortof like the atenna. But it wouldnt be bad if it was built into the hatch glass

DIFFERENT FACTORY TIRES!
(luckily i havent had any problems with feathering at 7500 miles)

and maybe. LED break lights.

Are the center dashes for the 03 and 04 made out of the same plastic? I remember someone on this board mentioning that the center console for the 04's have more a soft touch to them.

Got an 04 and really have no gripe about the center dash...it's a little soft to the touch. Haven't felt the 03's up close so I can't tell if we have the same dash.
I use to also think that our center dashes were a little simple in the pics but with the addition of the little wimpy knee pads on the 04's it gives the whole set-up a little more dimension.

I totally agree with you here. I always thought the Z had very aggressive cues throughout it's entire design but once you got to the front bumper it was just straight across and blunt.
Eventually, I was going to get a kit after wheels but couldn't resist to just slap the Veilside v1 lip in the front. Now, It feels a little more aggressive and sexy throughout.
I guess that's why some of the JDM cars have that center finisher to give it a less bland look to the front. Good call though.

yeah, when you switch on the heater to the lowest setting, you have to cross over AUTO first which makes the A/C come on. i forget it alot of the times and have the A/C running with the heater. hopefully the HVAC will be better integrated in the near future.

BTW The front of the car is sweet. If you want to change it, there are like 200 kits out there for the car. If it didn't look the way it does, none of us would really buy it. It is a work of art IMHO. have some of you gone to the other 350Z forums and seen what they wanted to make the 350Z look like, i think we are lucky that it turned out this way.

What i didnt like about the 04 center dash area was the NAV door (when the car didnt come with a nav). I didnt like how it just poped up.. IMO that makes it seem even cheaper. Im not sure on quality tho of the plastic tho. didnt really pay attention when i sat in a 04 =(

Adjustable camber/caster for the front suspension (it's not hard, really)
Larger rear quarter glass to eliminate the blind spot the size of Texas while backing up
A climate-control system that doesn't think it knows better than I and stays where I set it
Torsen or positrac differential option
And, did they really need to make the rear cross member through the hatchback area so huge? Didn't think so.

Redesign the Seat Belt Extractor so that when released it is fully extracted. Now you have to make sure when closing door the you don't close the door on the belt and metal catch.

Jeesh, some of you guys have pretty much designed an entirely new car. My only complaint as a lot of you have already mentioned is the interior materials. They seem to belong on a less expensive car. Other than that...i'm cool.

1. Adjustable camber in front
2. Nismo Sways (or an equivalient tune to provide better balance)
3. No tire stagger
4a. Put AUTO HVAC on opposite side as OFF, so you don't turn on AC (when passing through AUTO) when turning fan on and off
4b. Recirc should be independent of A/C
5. Less rattles (should have simplified upper dash area, too many plastic layers to rub on eachother)

Haven't any of you guys used the windshield washer with the windows open? How about rain grooves that keep rain (and washer fluid) from splashing into your face and dribbling down the inside of the door?

Oh, yeah, and all the stuff John and Jason Bourne said.

I have one more. I can't really see anything at night inside the car so how about map lights like BMWs. They illuminate the center console and dash, but not a lot so they don't take away from the view at night. I think the ZR has this, but not the Z coupe.

If you press the overhead lights, they turn on individually I think.

I don't remember if I'm thinking of the Z or the Dakota, but I think that feature is actually on both.

(Since I can't edit my post...)

Wheel lug nut holes that aren't scratched by a normal impact wrench socket
Dash glove box (my girlfriend's Prius has 2! an upper and a lower)
Better gas door
Better OEM tires
Wheel sizes that hold a way more popular tire size
A telescoping steering wheel
