Question What would you re-design?

This is kind of a general question to all 350Z owners out there. What would you re-design on your Z, if you could?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my car, but there is one thing that personally, I feel could stand a bit of changing, and that is the Sunvisors.

The sunvisors need to have some type of extender that pulls out or something because for us "tall folks" unless you lean forward in the seat when the sun is on your left side, you are getting some unneeded retinal burning. My dad's Pontiac used to have these plastic extensions that would slide out from the visor and extend it back about another 7 or 8 inches.

Anyone else have anything they'd re-design?

I would prefer the interior was not a mixture/clash of materials. I woulds prefer the dash was all vinyl ot plastic mixed in the middle.

Maybe make a front glove box.( I am sure they would have if they could)
Getting things out of the glove box is a pain in the A$$
Especially when someone is in the passenger seat

Suspension with adjustable camber? Or if it is going to be fixed, I would like it to be fixed at -2.0 degrees all around.

I'd design the car lighter and with a better weight distribution.

I would also want wider front wheels and no tire stagger (ideally 8.5-9.0" wheels with 245-255 section tires all around).

Honestly, one thing I was thinking of that would look really nice is a new headlight....The current one looks good, but I'm thinking something more along the lines of the new Gallardo....where you basically extend the top and make it pointier.

headlights that turn on for you when it is dark out.
keypad on the door entry (nicely designed to blend in).
trunk release inside the car (one on the dash somewhere).
I would make an optional rear seat, or make it possible to add one aftermarket.
put on tires so the front rims are not sticking out farther than the tire.
no tire stagger, so i can rotate and avoid the dealer when i started hearing the feathering problem.
gas nozzle behind the license plate or through the trunk, not on drivers side
antenna built into the rear glass.
self cleaning shifter boot
etc etc
etc etc etc

DAMMIT!!!!

I wonder if you can order '04 visors from a dealer and do a swap??

Oh yeah, and that manual truck release inside the car would be WAAAAY convenient rather than turning off the car completely and hitting the button on the keyfob or the release button under the hatch.

And DON'T tell me that's a feature on the '04 either!

I would re-design the tail lights.

I know alot of you guys love em and they've grown on me but initially the design was way too triangle. It should have extended more towards the center back of the car and be a little less angular. They don't really look like tail lights...just two huge red sidemarkers.

Yeah! What ever happened to the "Turbo" model?? I remember waaaaaaay back about 3 years or so ago when I first saw the 350Z in a Road & Track article and they mentioned a base and a turbo model. I think that Nissan really shot itself in the foot by not going through with it. I mean Come on... there is even a Turbo PT Cruiser model.

If it is something I would change, that would be the radio. I have a Touring and I would have loved a better Bose system. Something else is better paint in the front area to reduce rock chips.

If it is something that needs fixing it's the tire wear problems.

If it's something they should add, that would be a turbo. This car would be a absolute blast with one. Someday I might do it myself...

Thanks Mike

The Nismo suspension is what the car should have come with.

Wider wheels/tires, at least for the track model.

Be able to flash the high beams without activating the HIDs.

Made the stereo a standard double-DIN size, and woulda made it look like the Sony double to begins with and play MP3s, and have an aux out! Is that really too much to ask for?!?!

Ram Air?

I would've changed the front bumper, as well as ditched the reflectors and the ambor strip in the headlights.

LED tailights like the G35.

BETTER PAINT!!!!

Airbag kill switch to come with the car.

No rear wiper on enthusiast model. I don't want it!

Seat that don't squeak and window that don't creak!

Less weight.

Metal gas cap like the TT (not as cheesy as the mitsu one)

Would've made the little windows behind the door more flush with the body.

Just enough room in the back for my dog

Nicer looking headlights, front glove compartment, better interior materials, auto on headlights. That's all I can think of right now.

LOL, we're a small crowd that wish for this. Although I don't mind the staggered wheel / tire size. My biggest complaint overall is the weight. The track model should have come with more "track" features, like no p/s, no p/w, clutch-type diff, no VDC, no cc, and about 250lbs. less.
