Since a portion of the '05 model line is here, and more coming in the next few months, there have been a lot of 'researchers' visting the forums, asking about pricing and such. I thought I'd revive this thread (even if only for a little while) to help answer some of those questions. Realize that this information is a few months old now, so the figures might be a little off, but the basic math is still the same.

Hope it's of some help to some folks as they research buying a Z.

Peace out!

Thanks kcobean that sucks some people started flaming when it wasent your intent to offend anyone(i just read the whole thread).I know exactly what you mean and are talking about i bought the Z @21 now just turned 23,it was tuff for my first 5 months now i refinanced a low balance on my Z,so yes i think it can be done...this argument is based on do i save money and do the right thing or do i live life to the fullest with a Zweet 350Z.well i chose the Z and i have not one regret ...rough times at first but i stayed calm and refinancing can work wonders. anyway thanks for the advice even though it was a little late for my case....but there are plenty of young cats out there in the situation i was in and all i can say is go with your instinct

I hear this point quite a bit. I'm 23, and wanted a Z for a while but I knew I'd probably be holding off for a bit as I didn't really 'need' a new car. Fortunately, my car got totalled by a driver who fell asleep and parked it. The amount insurance is giving me combined with current salary puts the payments at about 20 bucks more than the civic.

All the points you make regarding fuel, depreciation, etc. are valid - although much of that isn't changing for me personally going from the last car. Still had depreciation on the civic, tires replaced, expensive fuel, etc. Good post, regardless!
