How would one safely go about lower the compression on the Z?
With the existing aftermarket, is there a safe way to lower the compression to say, 9:1? Strictly for FI of course ;-)

Well, I should have explained a little more. The corect way would be pistons, not just throwing a thicker head gasket on to lower the comp. Many Honda guys do this.....I would say if you wanted to lower 1 point or less a custom made gasket would be fine. Anything else and I would say get some pistons. For example I wouldnt take a car with 11:1 comp and want to lower it to a turbo car like 8:1 with just a gasket. But for a slight increase or decrease it will be ok. I had a custom copper headgasket made for my old car only $130...
here are the pistons I'm considering getting:

and the matching rods:

just waiting on a little $$$.
