Default Road Racing / Auto X forum?

Who here would be interested in having a Road Racing / Auto X forum?

www.honda-tech.com has a HUGE Road Racing / AutoX forum with a lot of SCCA and NASA instructors, drivers, et cetera. They are even able to organize group buys for HPDEs at NASA events. I know for a fact that a lot of 350Z owners will be taking their car to the track, and if we can organize group buys at various HPDEs, we can significantly reduce the cost of these weekends.

Anyways, this forum would enable 350Z drivers to discuss driving techniques, technical things at the track, track events, et cetera.

What are other my350z.com members' thoughts on this type of forum? I know people like Raceboy, PhoenixINX, and dwnshift would be interested.

I used to run with norcal and socal nasa but they cost too much for track time. A friend of mine runs a time trials series that I run with almost every event...it's hard to talk **** about your friends unless you have times to back it up! And then if they don't run timing you can call them a *****

I'm as green as the newest newbie when it comes to racing, but am anxious to find out more. I never knew you could "rent" track time and race your car. Do they have instructors at these tracks to show the new guys how it's all done, or do they just cut you loose and let you drive on your own, or what? Are you racing other cars, or is it like a time-trial? Thanks ahead for enlightening the new guy!

You drive with an instructor... both NASA and SCCA have different skill levels, and plenty of track assistants.

As for NASA being expensive, I don't think $250-300 for a weekend with an instructor is overpriced. Hell, with PCA and SCCA, the costs are typically much higher...

All for it,the Atlanta Z club rents AMS twice a year lots of fun ,have been in SCCA road racing for 20 years and the track events that the Z Car club puts on in most cases are just as much fun and generally safer.

I'm all for the forum. I need to learn a little more before I actually enroll. I've been to some of the BMWCCA schools at Road Atlanta, and have seriously been thinking about getting in on one come Jan. I'm interested in hearing other peoples track experience, setups, etc. without having to search through the general or technical posts.
