The CD always sounded good when you really cranked it. Problem is (maybe I am too old, 37) but 80-90% of the time I listen at pretty low volume. And that is when this system sounds the worst, radio or CD. Radio always seems worse.

Why does it say I am a newbie? I have about 250 posts!!

Default hmm

I agree with sunsetZ - I listen to the radio often at low levels. Usually my reasons are 1) I want to carry on a conversation at the same time with my passenger and/or 2) I want to still hear the engine purr in the background

That link to the bose site
http://www.bose.com/products/auto/tech-windows2.html

is interesting because if the system is as smart as it says it is, it might explain why we have some of this BASS problem. At low rpm the Z has a very bass sounding exhaust note, much more so than most cars. Perhaps the bose system is trying to compensate for this non-music "bass" noise by cranking up the music source bass? Perhaps it is a good idea gone awry

Nissan, please give me back control of my music! AAAAH!

Mine is now louder than ever. On my way to work, I had to turn the radio off. Oh well, I'll just have to wait for Nissan to fix it. Back to the phillips head screwdriver game again.
