RX8 are nice looking cars and the interior beats the Z. But doesnt have the raw power as the 350Z. The rotary engine might not be reliable in the long run.

I agree with Dustin4u...
Even my '02 Maxima SE 6-speed daily driver has more HP. Sure it won't handle half as well as the RX8 but then again, it wasn't advertised as a sports car.

RX-8's are NOT selling. There lemon's. Tons of them in dealer lots.

Do a search on any forum except the RX-8 forum. The RX-8 forum are full of goofballs that will try to convince you there car is awesome...when its really a lemon.

You can't friggin drive a short distance or your call will flood...WTF is that?
Flooding a rotary means a tow truck has to come tow your car....LEMON.
Auto has ~190hp, the 6MT has ~230hp. Just thought you might like to know

When I first got my Z, my sister needed to pick something up at Costco so I offered to drive her. I pulled up by the entrance and parked sat there while she ran in to make her purchase.

While waiting for her to return, I noticed a brand new Crossfire sitting at the front entrance with a sign from a Chrysler dealership asking people to drop by their dealership to see more of the exciting new Crossfire...

Funny thing was that I noticed more people stop, turn around and stare at my Z than at the Crossfire...
Reason enough to get the Z.

and there are many people on rx8forum who test drove both cars and chose the 8. it's gonna be different for everyone obviously. i don't see the rx8 as a girl car, or as a wannabe sports car (it qualifies as a sports car to me), but i do see it as underpowered car with horrible fuel efficiency when compared to the z. you have to ignore the subjective crap you hear from people at either forum.

uhh yeah a lemon that pretty much beats out the 350z in almost every article that compares them. i frequent the rx8 forums as much as this one, and i see more tire feathering complaints than flooding complaints. i guess that makes the z a lemon as well.

by the way i'm in the same predicament as the author of this thread. in summary for me:

Speed and handling aside, the car is just not as sleek as the Z. I like the 8 less each time I see it. I would never have chosen it over the Z.

and the Z beat every car last year. they can pick the RX8, but they cant change the fact that regaurdless of what the points say the 350Z wins every performance race. the slower car is just the better sports car .

LOL advertising.

PS Id rather tire feathering then engine flooding, 50missing HP, and blown seals.

Real Sports cars don't have 4 seats, lol. Say that to a Porsche 911 and he'll blow your doors off at the turn of green! Sports cars are designed to be different and all are in their own ways.

Reposted article, but oh well. It sums up the 8 pretty well when compared to the Z and Stook.

my sister just got the 8, its a very nice car i like the way it looks allot, and it drives nice. Keep in mind the people on here are hardcore performance modifying enthusiasts so of course the Z is going to be the popular choice. Cant really lose anyway u choose, both a very nice, z is faster but kinda spartan on the inside. WHO knows, i got the z, no regrets.

The majority factor of those ratings came from a comfortability and storage capacity factor. Two things that are typically sacrificed when it comes to sports car criteria. And no, the 8 isn't quite a sports car so....

rx8 = 15mpg city, 20mpg hwy. if you can live with that, then go for it. gas mileage is its biggest weakness. it's a little underpowered too.

Sat in a RX-8 (w/sunroof) and had no headroom. I am 6'2" and my head was touching the headliner. Nice car otherwise. They had 7 sitting on the lot. As far as a performance note that in the GA Cup racing an RX-8 is in class ST against Acura RSX & BMW 330iC's. The 350Z is in class GS for the overall win against the Porsche 996, M3, Caddy, Cobra & Firebird. Enough said. Bought my wife a nice '03 Stratos Blue SE Miata.
