350Z or RX8
Had the Z ordered - drop date at the dealer is April 14th. Saw an RX8 this weekend - oh man, that thing is bad! I absolutely love the interior of that car. Dealer gave me a great offer. Went to test drive the Z again yesterday - have an appointment to test drive the RX8 tommorrow. Not sure what I'm gonna do at this point.
I know this is a Z forum, but an anit-bias opiions?

search plz first. this has been covered almost a zillion times. rx-8. 4 seats, 4 doors, nicer interior, top end power. 350Z. 2 seats 2 doors, nice interior, way more torque, more hp, not a rotary. hard to get a non-biased opinion in a forum of people who own the car. maybe you should post this at s2ki.com or some other forum.

RX-8 is a "sporty sedan".
Also looks like a chick car.
Only has 190 HP...don't believe the 238 Mazda claims. A sports car doesn't have less then 200 HP
RX-8's are NOT selling. There lemon's. Tons of them in dealer lots.
Do a search on any forum except the RX-8 forum. The RX-8 forum are full of goofballs that will try to convince you there car is awesome...when its really a lemon.
You can't friggin drive a short distance or your call will flood...WTF is that?
Flooding a rotary means a tow truck has to come tow your car....LEMON.

Id agree on what everyone else is saying. You are going to get a biased opinion on here. I do agree that the RX-8 is a chick car. 190 hp doesnt exactly wow anyone. It also has had several blown engines altready and it is a very difficult motor to get worked on. The Z has beaten it in almost every aspect of performance and power. If you need a car with a backseat go with the 8. If you can live with a 2 seater definately go with the Z.

That being said, why would you ever get an RX-8? First, it's a four-door sports car. I have issues with that. I'm sure I'm not the only one. And it's UGLY. The lines don't flow well. At all. I'm not sure what looks worse, the RX-8 or the 2005 Eclipse.

While I like the Rx-7 I don't really care for the look of the Rx-8. And compared to a 350z not only is the Rx-8 lacking the style of the Z but it is also lacking the power especially in straight line acceleration.
If you must have a sporty car with a backseat and 4 doors then I suggest buying one of the myriad of nice BMWs available, if those are too expensive then I think I would get a SRT-4 before I would even consider getting the Rx-8. With the SRT-4 not only do you get a backseat and 4 doors but performance that decimates the Rx-8 and a cheaper price tag as well.

In addition to what everyone else has said, good luck getting golf clubs in the trunk of an RX8! The manual says we can get two sets under the hatch... can anyone confirm that?

wrong title. RX8 vs G35coupe is more like it.
I dont see what business the RX8 has comparing itself to the Z. its greatest victory is the back seat, well DUH!
but we dont really need to convince you, the rx8 boys can do it fine. just read their dynos and their other problems, youll see the light.

if i remeber correctly, a stock Z or G does not compare to a stock rx-8. Also, the gas milage is horrid on the 8. The rx-8 simply is a flop. The other thing the 9 has over the z is the feel of ease in the rev department. According to the mags, the revving of the 8 is simply amazing. Seems to want to go past 9rpm. But then again, performance wise..... not so good. F1 idea but not so F1 performance.
