Marilyn gets her banner!

Hey, Doc!
Nice to hear from you again. Did you have to park that beautiful Brickyard over the winter? Hope not. As I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, the dealership brought out all the colors for this, but when the Brickyard showed up everyone just ooohd and aaahd!
Thanks for the encouragement to get out and drive some more! I'll do it. Regards, Jim

Congrats, Jim. No one deserves that banner more! I can't believe you're already at 53k miles. Now get out there and put a few more on Marilyn (like I had to tell you to do that--lol).

Great story and outcome. Very well deserved. Great match between driver and banner.
Curious.. who are the guys holding up the banner.. from the Nissan dealership ?

Thanks! I guess the flip side is that I have had an incredible ride, but when/if it comes time to trade or sell, you will a fair bit richer than me at that time with your lower mileage. At my age I figure I better get in all the drive time I can, as quickly as I can! Regards, Jim

At a little over 3000 miles in 6 months on my TRACK I should
hit 53,000 miles by 2013.
Always love your pics

keep driving
Don't slow down your driving or I'll catch up to ya...got 28k so far and haven't owned it a year yet (bought it with 7 miles on it!)! The banner is awesome our club has one we display at meetings and events. I would love to get one as well even though mine is a redline...it is just an awesome banner! I also love the pics and backgrounds you have chosen for your Z! They are excellent!

Neil, you win!
Yes, you win!! Not only for guessing the locale, but for your correct spelling of it! It is full of great backgrounds up there as you know. That particular shot was a bit flat because the day was high overcast with no bright light and/or shadowing to give it some pop. In the end, I think it works anyway because of the subject/background. I have always maintained that it is awfully hard to take a bad photograph of a 350 Z! Regards, Jim

Re: keep driving
Cool! You just gave me the idea to bring the banner to our next club meeting for display. Mind you, just for one meeting only!
Thanks for your kind words on my pix of Marilyn and the backgrounds. Regards, Jim

Club banner
Cool! What a great idea. Only thing is that it would lower the "uniqueness" of the existing banners. A friend bid on one on ebay and dropped out @ $275 and saw it go to $700! Not that I will ever sell mine, but I think because it is announcing the initial intro of the 350, it will continue to go up in value even if they bring out another banner later on. Regards, Jim

I think every Z should come with one of those banners standard.

Wow 53,000 miles, good to see someone is truly enjoying everything the Z has to offer. Congrats on the banner! I too miss you pictures posts. You could teach us all a thing or two about photography, you pictures of the Marilyn are simply amazing. Congrats!

Marilyn pix
Well, thank you sir! You have brightened my day.
Speaking of bright things, Here is a shot of Marilyn that is not all that bright. This was shot in pretty subdued light, even though it was outside. I like this one because I used a polarizer and helped the light do amazing things to the grass in contrasting with Marilyn's paint on this day.

Congrats Jim on your milestone. Hold onto that banner. I have one and it is good motivation before getting into my car. And if Nissan is watching hire this guy for your Z marketing campaign. By far you take the best pics of the Z I have ever seen.
