Default Shifter Feel...

To those that have their Z's or have driven one, what does the shifter feel like? Is it a cable or rod shifter? To those here who have driven or drive an Integra, how does it feel compared to that?

I drove a type R the other day, CLUTCH and Shifter were UNBELIEVABLELY smooth. Catching point is a little high, but you get used to it fairly quickly. In comparrison to the Z, the shifter does not have as a "smooth" feel as compared to the Type R... The Type R was just so effortless...the Z requires a little more effort imo.

The Z has direct linkage to the transmission, compared with longer connections required for a FWD car. I like the feel of the Z's linkage. You do get some shifter vibration because of the lack of isolation, but that is a small price to pay. I think one article I read described the shifter on the Z similar to a bolt action rifle. Not a bad way to describe it

Never driven an Integra, though.
