I used leascompare.com to compare residual values of the z and it's competitors. I also checked on some other cars. The residual values at 24 months: Z - 67%, BMW Z4 - 62%, S2000 - 64%, Boxter S - 54%, 911 turbo convertible - 64%, Lexus LS430 67%, Corvette - 60%, Camry - 58%.
The values at 60 months are: Z - 45%, Z4 - 40%, S2000 - 46%, Boxter S - 34%, 911 turbo conv. - 43%, Lexus LS430 - 38%, corvette - 37%, Camry 37%.
The Z doesn't look too bad. Depreciation is not linear (i.e., the rate of depreciation gets lower with time). The Z loses 33% of its value at 2 years, About 18%-19% after 1 year.

Those are residual values for leasing purposes. I think they are overstated as opposed to actual depreciation in the marketplace.
Lower residual values will increase lease rates, and auto dealer profits.

z is in the middle when it comes to depreciation. What worries me is this tire issue. That can really hurt the used car market.

My response is we drive Z's because we love them. If we loose a few bucks over the time we use them, so be it. The head turns, the fun of driving it, all the dreams about it make it worth it for me. Hard to but a dollar amount on this.

Used are as high as new on everything unless it's 8years old.
