Has anyone's dealer actaully told them what the nissan approved leather is? Is it the nissan colors? Whats the deal with that. Im not talking classicsoft trim, or katzskins. I mean aftermarket from nissan.

Or is it only from one of those two places...... Anyone have NEW pics of aftermarket leathers??? Can we get burnt Orange aftermarket??

When I picked up my z they gave me a product brochure on authourized nissan accessories. They had an illustration of 2 tone leather seats and the price below it was $975.00 MSRP I believe that is the installed price. It states there is a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty when installed at the dealership.

Hope that helps.

If you interested I can take a macro shoot of the page for you.

leatherseats.com Eric is really great and their prices are very good. They will also do group buys. Go to i-club.com and check the vendor group buy forum. Look for leather seats. they have had several. Also check vendor reviews.
Tell him mikeinatlanta sent you.

I wonder how complicated it is to install the heaters for heated seats while the old covers are off. I never thought I'd like heated seats until I got my current car. I'm hot natured, and in the winter, I can keep a fairly cold car, but still be warm due to the seats

Seat heaters are easy. The biggest problem is running wiring and switch location.

That was really what I'd meant. I bet the wiring harness is probably already partially there, and you could probably use the panels for the switches, too (haven't looked to see where they are).

Most folks I've talked to used the lighter power. None of them were on a 350Z though.

Question

How exactly is aftermarket leater put on? Do they just glue it on top of the cloth seats? Also how is it as far as durability (will it slide around at all)? I know its not as good as factory but just wondering. Thanks for the info.

Wadd,

If you don't mind me asking how much did your dealer charge you for the custom leather? I'm also thinking enthusiast model in the future but wouldn't mind the leather. Also are you happy with it? Thanks!

mikeinatlanta,

when you purchase from places like the website you mentioned would you usually take the leather seat kit to an installer after you get it? Have any idea how much installs will run? Thanks.

So i guess 899 is fair? I think i might do red or red/black (but red outside black inside) We'll see.... Just red might look cooler, and not as busy........
