Default VDC Question?

Im probably going to get the Enthu. 350Z which i know doesnt come with the VDC. So what i am wandering is, is the VDC REALLY important to have or could i probably manage with just the TCS?

Yes, you can get by without VDC just as millions of rear-wheel drivers did before it came out. Just keep in mind that, if you gun it and pop the clutch going around a corner, you'd better know what you're doing - or have your cell phone charged up.

Couldn't agree more. Too bad the search isn't working, there are a dozen or more "turned off VDC and..." crash threads. My Z only had TCS and I once started to go into a spin at about 60 mph (TCS on, wet road) but was able to keep it under control. That was pretty scary.

I like the VDC on my G sedan, especially at higher speeds. But it's not something you "must" have, as long as you know how to drive.

You just need to use more good sense in your driving habits w/o the VDC.

problem is most people turn off the VDC so they can lose their good sense and not be interfered with.

its rare that someone turns of traction control so they can proceed to drive like a granny.

its unfortunate, but its a personal choice.

Im guilty of it, if I want to drive spiritedly I turn it off. kind of counter productive.

Basically, VDC can save your @ss, but if you don't do stupid sh*t, you shouldn't need it to.

And let me just add that just because you have it doesn't mean you can do stupid sh*t either. It's good (from what I hear anyway), but a computer can't save you all the time.

When you see the light, VDC is off.

1 more question.....
i heard that you cannot burnout or drift with vcd is on. however, i heard that although you turn it off, you cannot drift or burnout. In order you to drift or burn out, you have remove the vcd system from your car completely.....
is this ture??

and last one...is it better to have it on or off for the car???
if it is on, does it get more gas or batteries??? i can turn it off or on anytime i want or while i am driving??? is it safe???

If you have the 5AT touring, you have TCS, not VDC. Either way, the button will be on the left side of the dash above where the gas door release button is.

When you turn VDC off, you turn it off. It's not like it half stays on, or goes into sleep mode. It's off.

As far as on or off goes, it depends on what you want. A lot of people turn it off because they don't like the way it limits their driving and a lot of people leave it on because you have a better can of the car saving your @ss if you do something stupid.

I have to say it's saved me plenty of times. If I'm on the highway I turn it off, If I'm driving the back roads I leave it on, if it's a rainy day I leave it on, but it's a good feature to have.
