Default Car Cover / Cable Lock

I'm sure this came up here before, but for those of you who have the OEM Car Cover and Cable Lock, how do you put the cable and lock on? I would've thought it ran from one of the white grommets to the other under the car and then back, but the cable doesn't seem to be long enough.

I have the car cover and lock. The first time you try to put the cable and lock on it's a pain because it was packaged in circles (and stays in a circle when you take it out). So to put it on the first time, you basically have to reach about halfway under the car since it isn't long enough to be thrown. After the first night it's locked up, it stays in a straight line on its own (there's actually a lot of slack). In order to put the cable in place, you first put it though the grommet and then back into the same end with a pre-lopped hole on the cable. You then throw the cable under the car and put it through the other grommet and place the lock on. Pretty easy to do except the first time you have to do it.
