Insurance question
Hey guys, just wanted to say great site! I am a regular at many of the celica sites. Anywho, I'm 25 with no tickets/accidents on my record. I was driving a 2000 Celica GT about 8 months ago and recently bought a 2003 Accord Coupe V6. My insurance rate went up a little bit but not much (understandable since it's a newer car) I'm looking to sell the Accord already and get into a Z. How have you guys found the insurance rates on them compared to say similar cars like mine. For reference I'm with State Farm. I know I know I should just call to find out but I figured this was a good way to start posting and break the ice.
There are so many other factors involved in insurance that we really need to know more. For example, do you own a home? Are you married? Are there other people on your policy? Do you have another car that you are keeping on the policy (since you're getting rid of the Accord)? And personally, I have no idea what rates are like in Canada, but for me to share my rates as a male between the ages of 18 and 25 living in New Jersey with pretty much anyone else in the US (yes, I know some states are almost as bad as Jersey) would in no way, shape, or form be reflective of what they would pay.
thanks for the welcome...I understand that there are many factors in determining an actual rate so rather I am more asking in comparison to other cars generally where does the Z sit...higher/lower (assuming higher but how by how much) just wondering how much what type of car you guys drove before and how much insurance was effected when you bought the Z. So Im not looking for an actual number here.
My rates went up by $72/year. I traded into a 2004.5 roadster from a 2001 maxima SE 20th anniv. edition.
the hike was smaller than i expected, but i'm also married and have another car (2003 A4) on the policy, so that might have softened the blow.

very nice, that's what I was hoping to hear. I dont pay a hell of alot for insurance right now so finding out that I would if I was to go with the Z would have put a very big snag in my plans.

You'll love it. I've had mine for a week, and can't stop driving it. But yeah, insurance wasn't a big deal. It's worth noting that the rate I got was with no accidents/tickets in the last 5 years.
