Default break ins?

do you people with electronics (like hardwired radar detectors) bother removing things or hiding stuff? Has anyone been broken into? I've got a V1 hardwired but i hate taking it on and off all the time.

Being that your location reads Philly, I would definitely take it down. When I lived in NYC, I never left anything in the car. Why give the low lives a reason to break your window. Now that I live in Suburban NYC, I still do so. I'd rather have to take the suction cups off every day, then be cleaing glass pieces out of the car for months.

Then again, I'm from a family of cops and I'm always careful. Even being careful, my cars have been broken into many times in NYC. Everthing from computer chips to stereos. If I were you, I would just take it out or somehow cover it up inconspicuously.

I actually worry about the Xenon lights on the Z. I had a 2002 Maxima and I basically sat by my window with a 12 gauge waiting for someone to take them. I got sick of that and traded it in for my Z. Xenon light theft is big around NYC. The NYPD even set up a special task force for the theft of these lights. Most of the thefts are associated with the Maxima, but I hope they don't start doing it with Zs. My guess is that they won't, as the Z is too rare and thus there is a small market for the lights. Anyone hear of the headlights being stolen on a Z?

I don't think the Zs are as big a problem as the Maximas are. With the Maximas, someone could just walk up to the car and force the headlight out. In order to get the headlights out of the Z without breaking them, you pretty need need to get at them from under the hood.
