2004.5 Model?
I was out looking for my perfect Z today and I came upon one that seems to fit my needs. However, the manufacture date is Aug, 2003. Does this Z fit into the 2004.5 category where the tire feathering and other issues have been "fixed"?

i hate car manufacturs. I love it how some are already getting ready to launch the 2005 models....um according to my calender it is April of 2004. Sorry it just bothers me, I think it sounds stupid to drive a 2005 in 2004.

You want to get a Z built after January 2004, that's when they started production at the Tochigi plant. The Oppama Plant is where the tire feathering started.
Nissan Shifts Production of Fairlady Z to Tochigi Plant.
The Tochigi Plant is scheduled to begin production of the models in January 2004.
Nissan Motor Company has announced that it will transfer production of the Fairlady Z (350Z) and the Fairlady Z Roadster (350Z Roadster) from its Oppama Plant to its Tochigi Plant, with output at Tochigi due to commence in January 2004. The current Fairlady Z has been on sale since the summer of 2002, and sales of the new Fairlady Z Roadster launched on October 1, 2003. Nissan needs the Oppama plant to concentrate on such models as the March (Micra), the Cube and the Cube Cubic. The Fairlady Z is currently produced on the same line as the March. To increase production efficiency, Nissan has decided to transfer production of the Fairlady Z to the Tochigi Plant, where models such as the Skyline (Infiniti G35) are produced using the same platform as the Fairlady Z.
The Tochigi Plant production will center on large, rear-wheel-drive models such as luxury cars and high-performance cars.
This production transfer will also use the flexible production system based on the Nissan Integrated Manufacturing System (NIMS), which Nissan is incorporating worldwide. Keeping the necessary investment to a minimum, NIMS allows the transfer to be completed in a short period of time.

I would hardly trust production of these cars at a new plant also.
I wouldn't think it would be any better. Having to start fresh at a different plant with different people just begs for new problems and more quarks to arise that would eventually have to be worked out yet again.
The fact that the Skyline is also produsecd there (infiniti G35) is also produced there doesn't ease my mind any.

The start of the 2004.5s start in the middle of October. I have a car built in October, yet it isn't a 2004.5. I don't know the exact date though.

Thank you, I thought 11/03 was the first date you could say was definitely 2004.5.
