Talking My Z gets the last laugh!

So I'm driving down a long stretch of neighborhood road (almost a 1/2 mile long) heading on home. In front of me I see a Focus with pitch-black windows waiting for me to pass by to pull out of a driveway. I pass by and he gets out of the driveway. To my suprise (or not) the *** starts to tailgate me to the point where I can't even see his hood through my rearview. I'm going about 30 mph and not budging which is around the speed limit there and he/she's still tailgating me like a jackass. About 3 minutes pass.
And then... the cop... muahahahah. A cop goes driving by down the opposite side of the road and spots the ******* tailgater. Sure enough, the cop whips out the red and blue lights and owns the Focus
It was hillarious to say the least. I thought about brake-checking the fool, but he was so damn close to my *** I think he might of hit me.

That kind of stuff happens to me too...
I don't know what it is? Maybe the fact that we drive a sports car? It seems that everyone has to prove that their car can keep up with a Z by tailgating us. And if you move over to the other lane they always give you that look like they got the best of you and then they floor it and pull away.
Like oooh man, sorry I didn't feel like racing your souped up Corolla.... Maybe another day when I'm bored and have nothing better to do.

If I do I think I'll roll down my windows and point at him/her and laugh histerically. Chances are I'll run into it again since this is a somewhat small town.

One time I had some showoff HS kid with his g/f in the car tailgate me and then pass me on a residential. Funny thing was... he was in some 80's piece of crap car. BUT... he did have exhaust modifications. What gave it away? ... the buzzzzzz.

This wasn't an eclipse or accord or civic or anything.. just some random junker. Very funny stuff.

best way to deal with tailgaters: release the gas pedal. nothing drives them insane like the slow decrease in speed. they will honk, zigzag from side to side, flash their lights, curse, and flip you off when they finally pass you. but it's funny as hell.

That is when you just creep down to 5 mph and hold the speed there until they back off, or try to pass you. If they try to pass you, you own them

I'm going to get shot some day.

Just flash the brake lights whilst keeping your foot on the gas, that usually sends them back a bit...

That's funny I had some woman in a Camry just yesterday tailgating me doing the Nascar Zig Zag Thing. I didn't brake check her or slow down. I continued to drive normal and just ignored her. Every now and then I would peep at my rear view, I didn't want to make it obvious or give her some kind of clue that she was pissing me off. Sometimes I think about adding a spring release oil tray under my car for a$$holes like that but then I think about some innocent driver, maybe I should consider the rear bumper machine gun instead.

He was just trying to "persuade" you into romping it, so he could see how good/bad his car would do compared to the almighty Z.

Luckily, you're NOT me or you'd have downshifted, punched it, and blown by the cop at tripple digit speeds = racing ticket/jail.

Good decision/move on your part...luckily I don't drive a car like the 350z that every punk ricer wants to race or I'd be in ticket trouble.
