I fellow Z owner found that some Zs have front tires whose tread blocks are not completely segmented. He looked at various Zs on a dealer's lot:

Maybe this is a solution from Nissan/Bridgestone for the tire feathering problem?

 

That's interesting but strange that they would change the tread design and still use the same model designation. No matter what I'd still stay away from RE040's.
