How do you research a Z by the VIN #?

How do you research a Z by the VIN #?
I just signed the papers for the dealer that says I agree to the terms etc for the dealer locate. They gave a VIN on top, and I want to know the details about this car (what dealership owns this car, options, build date, etc.)

ive been there before, and although its helpful, it doesnt say much. I know that my car is a 2 seater and its built in 04
But i was wondering what dealer actually ordered this car. would a carfax say?
