Exclamation Vote for Regional Forums!

Lets all vote for regional forums to stop the confusion and it will help setup and find meets easier.

Sure we have a car clubs forum but even that isnt as efficient as a regional forum.

Express any opinions you have...

If regional fora were only for specific topics i.e. meetings, weather, then yes but if each faction hides in their regional forum for general discussions then no. I like the global feeling of the forum as it is.

good point...

But, versatility of a website that has a forum is key for success.

Regional forum would be used for many purposes and the thought of it taking away from general discussion forum shouldn't even be worried about because this forum grows everyday and will soon reach 10k members in another 3-4 months.

Too many people will be worried about their points or popularity and would post WAY more in general discussion.

There are to many places to check for messages now. I think that regional forums would make it even worse, and rarely get used.

I don't see how it would make it worse?

It would clear up all the "Z ya at Pep boys" or "See you had fuddruckers" mess...

It's just another step for a cleaner site.

I use the "View New Posts" link. It gives me all of the posts I haven't looked at since the last time I visited the site. Shows threads from all of the forums on the site.

I don't think a regional forum should be necessary. It will start to get out of hand with too many extra sub forums, some will complain they don't have one for there area, etc. If you are worried about meets and get-togethers what you should actually create is a MEETINGS forum for people to sign up for meets in there area and whatever else. That probably makes the most sense.

I say as long as we keep the main forums, then regional ones would be ok.

We need a common area/forum to post and discuss local activities. The general audience have no interest in these stuff. Currently, local related posts are distracting to general audiences and in the same time can stay long enough in the first few pages to draw local attention.

We need a better way. Just take a look at other popular car forums.

Regional Forums work very well on many other sites. If you are interested in regional activities or info, then you would check there. If not, no need to.

On top of that there is a need to make event planning easier and not clog up the General Forum.

yes please make regional forums, it's a lot easier to plan meets and local events.

If you need someone to moderate a nevada forum or a SW mod i'd be more than willing to help also.

Regional forum would be ideal since this community is getting so big so quickly. Like other forums, people will post and discuss local events and meets, but other discussion will still take place in the general forum. This would help clean things up, it's got my vote. Besides, the nation of Texas should have it's own forum anyways.

Default This is MUCH needed

Absolutely! I've been asking for this for months. If we're ever going to get organized to the degree of some of the more mature auto enthusiast boards out there (i-club.com rings a bell), then we need this sort of thing.

Seems that the structure of this forum has been stuck at v1.1 for a LONG time...

Default I vote no

Many of us on this forum have been communicating for 9 months or longer. IMHO moving to "regional" forums would be the start of a climb up a slippery slope. Specifically it would start to place us in "cubby holes" based on geography. I for one have really enjoyed communicating with and hearing about the joys and struggles across the country.
I have made friends as a result of the "national" nature of the forum. I have been able to realize that what was happening in NY was also happening in the Midwest, South , "Left Coast" etc.

Have you not been on other boards that have regional forums?

All the ones I've been on they have success with them and it serves as a great tool. The general forum won't be harmed from this change, just helped and improved to help weed out all the non-sense posts that most people don't wanna read.

It would be great if we can have everyone that posts topics direct thier topic heading at a region instead of making deceiving topic names that make everyone go and waste their time looking at them. Wastes the members time and WASTES THE SITES BANDWIDTH.
