Personally, I've always liked the S13 better than the S14.

G35 MiXed - I am 20 years old...I have already 2 cars payed off a by myself since I was 17. I first had a 2000 accord V6, and then I had a almost fully modded S14, which I just sold. And no, I am not spoiled, I dont even live in the same city as my parent do. I moved out when I was 18, and I have been paying every bill since. But this is not what this post is about...

ML2316 and Z04 - take a look at some of the other posts...thats the kind of advice and descriptions I was looking for.(DruDragzOn and BigBadBuford) And the reason why I posted such a personal preferecnce questions on this board, is b/c I wanted opinions from people who own a Z, or maybe own two of the cars and can compare. Other people have made really good points...I dont understand why people get so cranky when people ask for an opinionated question. Its not that I'm not going to choose what looks best to me....IMO, I dont know right now...they all look soo DAMN sexy!

Basically, all I want is some positive feedback and personal opinions of Z owners...

Also, Looks is not why I am buying a car at all....I have already done alot of research on alot of different engines...really, all I want out of my car is to get around 350-450 rwhp. Im not a huge drag racer, soo if I did end up getting a supra it wouldnt be an all out 800hp supra...I like to autox, and drift more than drag racing. But I keep that to a minimum as well b/c this is my daily driver. Thereforre, all of my choices will be capable to meet my needs in the power department. So, that why I made this questions based only on looks, b/c thats all my choice boils down to really.

Also, I would never EVER EVER get a scooby, evo8, or SRT...I go for the more elegant, classy, and with a touch of luxury sportscar looks...im not into the civic type style that those cars project.(this is in my personal opinion, I understand that certain people like that kinda thing) JUST NOT ME!

S15 > Z > Supra > S14

I just dig S15's headlight very much...

I prefer the Z over the Supra. I think the supra is overrated IMO. Don't get me wrong they are great cars, but everyone wants one and the people that have them usually have everything done to them. Kinda makes them lose there "shock factor"....

I think the Z looks 2x better than a Supra stock vs. stock. The stock Supra wheels look like they belong on a Camry and they seem a little high. Modified though I'd say it's a tie.

JUST my opinion:

The RX-7 is a killer looking car! but anyways what was the question? ah yes..

Despite the Supra being one of my fav. muscle Japanese cars, it is starting to naturally look a little dated. The curvy overstroked lines are screaming early nineties.

The S15( or any USDM S14 aftermarket derivative of it) is definitely a mean looking car when it's tuned or modified. Left stock, it's geometry looks a little bland like any sports coupe. Definitely a crowd pleaser in the tuning world but it's not that beautiful or anything to rave about as an everyday driver. The real S15 (sylvia's) tail resembles a pontiac Grand Prix. I'd still kill for one but only because it's exclusive to us.

The Z...well um yeah...the Z. I can honestly say this car has some angles that are not photogenic at all. But in person and up close it's lines are elegant and beautiful. Just based on looks alone, it's a handsome car. With the right set of offset wheels and Top Secret Widebody I'd take the Z above the rest.

yea, the RX7 looks nice, but its too small for me and i personally dont want to deal with a rotary engine. If I was going to think about getting a older car, it would only be a supra.

So, my only choices are the 350Z, Supra, and G35.
hmm...Hard decisions...

If anyone has any, post some really nice clean pics of some Z's, G's, and supra's!! nothing too wild...
Thanks,
Jon

I have a Z with the veilside kit on it and it looks sick. I personally think it looks better than any supra I have ever seen.

yea, i like the veilside kit, all though its a little wild for my daily driver...I personally like the amuse, vertex, nismo, and Cwest kits...

on another note, its getting really close for me to make my decision on what car to get. I am looking to buy a car next month. Right now, I still leaning towards the Z...

IMHO the 1990-1996 300ZX (Z32) is the best looking body styles to ever come out of Japan. Its just so smoooth and modern.........even 14 years later after it introduction.

P.S I own a 1994 Surpa TT (BPU), a 2004 350Z (Touring), and a 1990 Z32...........and the Z32 lines are still the smoothist after all these years

Yes, I know its not on your list

SFZCC, since you own both cars, can you give me your opinion on the 350Z and the supra?

Supra: Early 90's build quality coming out of Japan was A1. The Supra is a better built car than the 350Z even by todays standards, lets face it, Nissans cost cutting efforts have effected quality. My 1990 Nissan 300ZX is way better build than my 350Z, however most would say its even "over-built" to an extent--which attributes to its hefty weight. Howver the 350Z is a very nice ride, in all respects. The 350Z does have a more snazzie interior and is more eye catching, while the Supra's is pretty bland and straight forward functional. Engines: The VQ35 is a wonderful engine, however it is well know the inline 6 2JZ platform is simply awesome (for example my Supra dynoed 429rwhp/432rwtq with just Intake, Downpipe/Exhaust, and BCC at 16PSI).....and its still in its "baby" stages in the "Supra world".

Looks wise, they are both stunning and look better than most things on the road. However the Supra is a much bigger car (4 seats), and is a heavy weight, but the power it puts out almost eliminates this, it handles very well for its weight.....tho the 350Z handles much better in most areas. Straight line power.....that goes to the Supra.......its a brute!
Supra has better visibilty, and is quieter at high speeds (120mph+).......quiet as a Lexus in most respects.

350Z .........NO turbos Supra TT Sequential Turbos.......very reliable tho.......but Supras are getting older by the day, so be prepared for possilable surprises and high mileage. Also be prepared for paying premium doller for a Supra.........almost the price of a new 350Z. But I must say, my Supra turns more heads than my 350Z when its driven out and about....and its rare.....only 11,000/12,000 built from 1993.5 to 1998.

IMHO Z cars and Supras are kinda apples and oranges.....and I love both

Anyways I can talk forever about this.............

2004 Nissan 350Z (Touring 6spd.) Silverstone/Burnt Orange
1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo-Stage III (49K Original miles)
1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo-BPU (21K Original miles)

2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8S "Daily Driver"

And no, I don't live in my cars........LOL

Supra! Why? Just try to picture how 350z would be against the competition in year 2014. I don't see it becoming a legend.

Not convinced? Well I'll give few more reasons then:

That **** is still looking mighty fine after 10 years.
How many engines out there that can make 800+hp stock internals?
Toyota quality and reliability.
Can't beat the beautiful sound of straight 6 (along with skyline gtr and m3)

rx7, nsx, 350z, evo, sti etc. are all nice cars but when talking japanese performance cars Toyota Supra turbo and Nissan Skyline GTR are in a league of their own.

I think that you couldn't go wrong with either a Supra or a 350 Z. Each car has its own pros and cons. The Supra is very tuner friendly, and attaining your goal of 350-450 rwhp is not a long shot away, whereas with the Z, tuning is still in its infant stages. Finding parts to bring up your horsepower to the levels of a 350-450 rwhp supra will be much harder, and you will probably have to spend much more money. I've loved 350 Zs since they have came out, and if it were up to me, id go with the 350Z. The Supra is rare, but the 350 Z is like my dream car.

If it came down to looks, then i think that the 350 Z and Supra are pretty evenly matched. But you also have to consider how well the styling on the Supra has withstood the test of time. Even after 10 years, it is still formidable competion with some of the latest designs coming from Nissan design studios. The 350 Z is a car with great style and is one of the best looking cars on the road, but i dont know if will hold true after 10 years, as it has with the Supra.

In the end, the comparison between the Supra and 350 Z is so close that its just a matter of throwing the dice. Either way, you are going to end up with one hell of a car, and you just cant go wrong with either one. I' m pretty sure that most people would agree with me, because its just to close to really say for sure which one is better.

Overall the Supra is more of a car....even 10 years later.....its just in a different class.....the Z32 is more of a car than a 350Z....in build quality and in other areas (looks)........and that design is over 14 years old!! My Z32 still turns heads....
Remember guys the Supra and Z32 were 40k-50k cars when new....the 350Z is a 30K car........and yes, the 350Z is one hell of a "bang for the buck"!

If I were you, I just go for a "new" 350Z, rather than paying the same price for a "older" used Supra, with God knows how many miles, and driven like God knows what......

I just lucked out on getting my Supra when I did, and in the mint condition it is in.

Anyways I love Z's and Supras........thats all I pretty much ever owned......
But remember all Z cars will always be part of a legend in the import car world.........Z cars started it all.........
The 1993.5-98 Supra is just a legend in itself, deservingly so..........as well as the Skyline GT-R.

Also know ALOT about the 300ZX Z32 series.....owned them for many years, and have done various mod & resto work!!!
Learning daily about my new 350Z, hence why I'm a member of this forum

IMO, Supra looks tougher and sexier than the Z, but both look equally sporty, and both look very nicely. S14 to me doesn't look very good. Skylines to me look like an appliance, and very ugly and square to me. Of course, we're just talking about looks and personal preference.
