Talking First Burnout...

I did my first burnout today and it was so damn fun! I revved to around 4500rpm then let tha clutch go. I couldn't believe it was so easy.

Why would you need to take out the brake fuse to due a burnout?

When the brake and the gas are pressed at the same time, the throttle is shut off at a certain RPM. Disconnecting the brake fuse tricks the car into thinking the brakes aren't on. Oh the joy of drive by wire.

Anyone in here bashing the base Z ever been in one?

if you hit rocks or something simple one tire will spin "PITA"

however I've had my car sideways more then enough times to know you don't need an LSD to spin both tires

my old 280ZXT use to have a R200 rear end that was NOT a LSD it also had a 3 speed auto tranny this is my friends drive way both marks were from my baby "aka 280ZXT" =)....

btw they are much longer then they look I use to knock out some bad *** 50+ foot burn outs =( I miss that car

I have a base no LSD of course and I can spin the crap out of both of my tires equally, just ask the guy who replaced my tires, and my neighbors who wonder why there are always two big black patches down the street.

I'm not that coordinated to do 3 things at once, but a 50 foot patch of rubber doesnt seem all that hard to me because I'm pretty sure that I've done it...a few times. The problem that I do have is that the patches (especially when doing donuts) are only about 4 inches wide. When I'm burning in a straight line you can see the whole contact patch, but only about 1/3 of it is actually dark black. It's like the rear camber is way in, but it looks fine. It has hasnt been lowered or anything so I dont know why the rear camber would be off.

Any ideas?
Sorry for the hijack..

reach down to the left bottom dashboard (under the steering wheel and to the left) find the button labeled "TCS", push, rev, burnout, smile, repeat

I have the same problem. No burnouts for me due to eccesive wheel hop. Even at 32psi I am getting too much wheel hop. One of these days I'll get those rear camber bars that "should" help with the hop.

I left two 6 feet marks by turning off vsd and slipping it fast at 6k rpm.

This is without the brakes.

Try slipping the clutch a little more? Maybe that will get rid of some of the wheel hop. i sometimes get it too!
