You're right!! It's not a jewel that should stay in a box.

By the way....you hit 8 animals??? Where do you live, in a forest or something??

I used to live in the city, and the only thing I hit there was a rat. But while out in the suburbs, I've hit a fox, three squirrels, a chipmunk, a bird, and I forgot that I hit a deer and a prarie dog, but that was with a rental car. So make that 6 animals in my Z. Deer are incredibly overpopulated here, and they're a nuisance more than anything. Mother nature and I are at war.

I'm with Dissolved and John.

My car looks like a 10 year old junker. Rock chips (thanks NJ highways) and huge dents all over the place (thanks valet parkers at my apartment) swirl marks all over the paint (that one's my fault - I scrubbed it with paper towels to get some tar junk off). It really looks bad - but so what, I got it to drive it, not to look at it. I'd trade a second off my lap times for another big-a$$ dent.

You just have to learn to deal with it. The car's not likely to look new once it gets some mileage on it....

That being said, I have ordered some polish and wax yesterday because I would like to at least take care of the swirl marks all over the paint. That one is nagging me because I caused it and I'm tired of telling people that I screwed up the paint on my own car.

i know the z is a sports car, thinner panels, sits low ect but man this really sucks. i parked my car at the mall for work, come back and find this crap. i have no idea how the hell this happened as well. i can guess it was due to some inconsiderate ****.

a clear bra is installed but i think the indent went into the bumper as well. at least this gives me an excuse to get a nismo bumper to replace this. plus the cost of getting it painted and a new clear bra. meh. not to mention 2 days ago a main road i travel everyday was covered with these 1 inch rocks. of course some car in the opposite lane kicked one up and smacked my side front fender. 1 inch scratch all the way down and a small dent.

Where did you get a clear bra in NY? I want to get one, but no one seems to install them. Anyone have any ideas?

I find a new scratch about every day. It pisses me off as well. IDK if it's because of the shitty paint or what.

Why can a 92 Blazer not get scratches, but a 2003 350z looks like it has been through a war.

15k mi on my car and just a few tiny paint chips on the front bumper... the Z has been by far the easiest car to take care of and no dings here *cross my fingers*... i think color is a big factor... my black prelude had so many dings and swirl marks... after awhile i gave up.

This is exactly why I don't bother anymore... it's a street car, and therefore is destined to get smacked by flying objects and/or other retards on the road (America is full of a sea or idiots). After I hit a fox, I gave up trying to maintain a perfect condition of the car. Since then I've gotten a door ding, gotten hit by a baseball, hit 8 other animals, gone agricultural racing 3 times, developed a nice 10" crack on the windshield from a mysterious rock (that's below my windshield wiper), etc. Mine is a street car turning track warrior, so at least I know mine is used... Anyways, my point is that while your experience might be frustrating, get used to it. As long as your car sees the street, this **** is going to happen. The more you lament over it and worry about it, the worse you're going to feel. Not worth expending so much mental energy over this, as it's going to happen again.
Yep, exactly my friend

I have a Brickyard and have maybe one or rwo very small chips, and I've been hit by a number of rocks. Also had a few biggies hit the windshield and no damage yet. Of course, now that I've said this I'll get all dinged up tomorrow. 30,000 miles BTW.

Ironically, a 1/2" rock hit my windshield this morning from a truck going in the oppsite direction. Luckily we were only going about 30MPH (60MPH approach speed) and I didn't notice any cracks.

Life is funny!

heh nice to hear nothing happened.

FBLUE - Sorry I cant say. Reason being is the car was drove in from Massachusetts with it already installed because they couldnt find a match locally...

Ask a decal shop if you know of one, if not ask a body shop to refer you to one. They may be able to tackle the install.

Hope this helps.

Very well said.

Yea, it sucks, but I said "screw it" long time ago too. I have quite a bit of rock chips

I don't follow anyone closely.

And I'm going to have to start parking like you since I now have two dents on the crease in my driver's side door.

How close you drive to the car in front of you really has nothing to do with it unless you are driving behind a 4x4 that just finished off-roading. On the highway, most rocks and other debris are usually bouncing around like super ***** on the road. That's why sometimes you'll here a loud bang when one of these rocks descends from 100 ft in the air onto your car. There's really no place to hide.

It's the nature of cars and people to get beat up as they age. Don't worry too much about it. Drive and enjoy the car. When it gets too bad you can sell the car and get a new one. Try that with your body!

Dude some delivery van backed into my nose last November and hit the crap out of it, sending a headlight out of alightment and huge scrape in the bumper. I had it repaired in about three weeks only to have someone hit the rear bumper on christmas night while parked at my brother's girlfriends place and she lives in a nice residential part of LI, with huge parkings on the street. People are inconsiderate, but I believe they're even more inconsiderate when they see a nice car.

It's the nature of the Z. I use my Z for show pretty much. 25K miles in alittle over 3 years. Occasionally I'll take it out somewhere. It never fails. Someone always causes damage to it no matter how careful I am. So far I've had 2 front bumpers replaced and the rear bumper once. Recently someone backed into the new rear bumper, knocking the turn signal out of socket and scuffing the paint slightly. Luckily I was able to buff the scuffs out and repair the signal light. Like I said, Nature of the Z. Have fun.
