I've been thinking about this for a while- how do you think we'll find out about the final HP numbers *for real*...? Possibilities:

1. We'll just have to wait until the August issue of most car mags
2. As pre-order customers, we'll get e-mail (or maybe even a snail mail letter) from Nissan before the car mags publish the numbers
3. Nissan will post the final numbers on NissanDriven and/or NissanNews prior to the car mags publishing. This might be in the form of a press release...
4 The dealers will be notified of the final numbers, and we'll find out from them.
5. ZISME (the *real* one) will post the numbers here, or on another message board before any of the above...

I believe (and hope!) that number 2 is most likely- although it doesn't make a heck of a lot of difference to me either way. I also think that Nissan hasn't quite decided on how they want to handle this. Maybe they'll find this thread to be helpful.

Automobile Magazine's next issue will have the review of the Z, so I would guess it'll come out in a few weeks.

 

Considering how long it took Nissan to get us our correct confirmations, I'd be shocked if we found out the news before the car mags did. My bet is whoever gets their copy of R&T first will post the results on the board.

 

ZISME did mention in one of his posts that Nissan was contemplating sending us the numbers before anyone else knew them (us meaning preorderers). Not sure if this is true or if so was it via e-mail or US mail.

 

I would hope that if one of us knows then we all will, and of course Nissan knows this so why waste time sending out 8000 emails... This news will spread like a wildfire. It will not come out by mail or email. I think they'll break the news at a Press conference..hence it'll be on the website the same day. When I don't know.... but Nissan hoggin these numbers has been the worse part other than the long wait to get our Z. Having a pre-order really doesn't mean all that much when they know everyone is awaiting these numbers...especially other car companies. Toyota..for sure

 

wait wasn't motor trend supposed to be the first with the official news? even if all the magazine's august issues are all going to have reviews of the 350z, motor trend always comes out like a week before all the others.
