Default Can This Be True ?? *Long*

Let me just say that i did my search about the things that i will be talking and asking about so here we go. My friend finally bought a 350z and its an Enthusiast Coupe so he says. Im really excitied for him because he has been wanting this car for awhile but here is the werid thing. He said that he is getting leather, navi, 18" chrome rims for about 29K-30K but im like huh. I didnt believe it so i went to nissan's website and checked the Enthusiast Coupe doesnt come with leather and i knew that and i wanted to double check. I check to option list and there is no option to get leather. so i check the touring and track and the lowest model that comes with leather it touring and that alone is $33,840+$2,000(navi)+$1660(chrome rims)+$560 destination fee+$150(trunk/floor mat) = $38,210 w/o tax. So he is basically saying he got $8,210 if he bought it for $30k. Wow that is a lot off and im pretty sure this is the first time. Cause i read other people's thread saying that they bought 2 cars at the same time and only got $1500-$2000 off. But $8,210 just for one car ?? i smell BS !! i dont get what he is thinking and like i want to tell him that this is BS cause i never heard such thing but he might get mad at me or think i am jealous but i am not i own a nice car as well (G35 Coupe) but i want to let him know that this is total BS. But someone please tell me if this can happen. He bought it from Hunting Beach Nissan i believe and the car is coming from Foothill they had to do a car switch. He is getting the car tomorroe hopefully but i dont know. So if i am wrong please let me know thanks a lot

Enthusiast only has 17" wheels too....sounds like he's getting a lightly used touring to me. You sure its a brand new one?

It could be a new one with dealer options. Tell him your concerns so he can ask the dealer.

In case your friend argues with you, Touring is the only trim that comes with leather.

All of the things he's getting can be installed, just not at the factory. He should make sure the dealer didn't sell him a new Enthusiast for $30k plus the cost of parts and labor to install the leather seats, navigation unit, and 18" chrome wheels.

I don't think the dealers can install a factory NAV unit if the car didn't already come with one. Performance, touring and track arre the only ones can comes with Nav or have Nav as an option.

Unless he knows someone at the dealership, traded something in (and just isn't telling you that part of it), or it's been sitting on the lot for months (very unlikely), chances are no.

EDIT: Or if he's really to someone very high up at Nissan/NNA.

I bought a fully loaded Touring for $39000 out the door and this was after a discount off MSRP. MSRP was $37200 before taxes and licensing,etc.. So there is no way that he is getting a New Touring with all options. If I were to guess, he is probably getting an Enthusiast model like he said, but it is most likely used with aftermarket wheels, leather and Nav.

Or maybe, he is getting a New Touring and paying way over what he is telling you, but doesn't want his wife to know what he is really paying for the car. Cause honestly, all the models look the same to those who don't know the Z and he can just tell his wife that he paid $30K and show him the numbers on the enthusiast model.

Default $1.00 under invoice

The dealer in my area is selling ANY Nissan for $1.00 UNDER invoice. So, yes, you can get deals, even on a Z.

Haha. That's a funny thought. The dealer isn't making him wait. It's the fact that he wasn't satisfied with what the dealer had that is making him wait. So if anything, he'd have to pay more because he's not helping the dealer move his inventory.
