Default Drving school

Does anyone in the NJ area know of a driving school that actually teaches how to drive stick? I've called many schools and they all only teach on autos. I need to learn how to drive stick before I order my Z; Unfortunately I don't have any family members or friends that own a manual. HELP!

Pffft it's funner to learn how to drive stick in the Z itself lol. I learned from the salesperson, good times. Lucky for me I knew I was going to have to change my clutch in a few months for the TT anyway so burning up the stock one didn't bug me much.

Just go to a dealership and tell them you want to buy a Z but want to learn how to drive stick. They'll probably teach though probably not in a Z. That's what I did, they taught me how to drive stick on a spec V. Even told to come back if I wanted more lessons.

I think driving schools have probably gone the way of car rental agencies. Too many people f*cking up clutches because they don't know how to drive manual, so they stop supplying them. My guess is the only way you can get a school to teach you is if you supply the car. Do like spitfirez said. Most dealers are willing to help you out with that. Especially if it will help close a deal.

if you don't know how to drive MT, then just get the 5AT. believe me, i don't regret getting the auto AT ALL.

learn to drive MT on a beater Civic later. i learned to drive MT on a 1986 Nissan Maxima with my Dad and only took about a couple of hours to get it down.

Not an option for me. The last car I got there was such a huge performance difference between the auto and manual versions, I regretted it throughout the entire time. I promised myself I'd never make that mistake again, and will never buy a performance car with an auto transmission. I think I'll do what most of you suggest. I'll have the dealership teach me.

SCCA: That was funny. It's like going for a graduate degree before you even enter grammer school.
