Default Would you Buy another Z; why or why not?

I have had my Z since April, 2003, and like at least some of you have had the tire feathering problem. The result is a new set of tires which will probably wear out as fast as the old set. Aside from that, I absolutely love this car.

The specifics reasons are many, but I was wondering how many of you Z owners would buy another one. and the reasons you would or would not. Also, if you would purchase something else what would it be.

Default I would...

I was washing my PPW today as the sun was out...the pearl paint looked awesome. 2 complete strangers (of the 5 people I saw this morning) walked up to me and complimented the car. To me it's not what other people think...but I just love the looks of the car - especially from a distance where you can really appreciate its profile.

Then after she was cleaned up I took her out for a quick spin...3rd gear in the Z is a religious experience. A religious experience that almost got me a ticket for doubling the speed limit. :-) Damn cities!

I love the car though - the looks, the motor, the sound, the interior, are all just sweet. Sure the feathering sucks, there are a few rattles and there are some window streaks...but anyone who's owned cars knows that only Lexuses are perfect.

I love my Z...the only reason I'd get rid of it would be to exchange it for a silver one...I'm sick of black. I wash it and there's a coating of dust on it not even a mile into a drive...ANNOYING!!!! Never am I buying a black car again. I should have got the silver Z.

vice86,

ditto on your comments regarding black. I have a chrome silver Z, but prior to that I had three black cars in a row. They look great when washed and waxed, but the Silver is so much easier to keep clean.

I'd grab another one in a minute. This is my nineth car, and I can't stop driving her. It's wrong to love a car like this. I admit I'd be torn between the coupe and the roadster.

Love it...can't say enough about it. I don't see another car on the road today that I'd rather be driving. Just feels right.

I dunno, there really isn't anything else out there right now that I really like other than the Z. I kinda like the idea of having a roadster to match my coupe

BTW, what part of Milwaukee are you from? I'm from Greenfield, but soon to be in downtown Milwaukee.

The lease is up on my Z in about a year and a half. I start shopping for cars about that far ahead. I bought my Z 7 months before the first '03 model was made. It is a great car and I cannot find anything out there for less than $100,000 that I would buy. I had my eye on the '06 VW Concept R but they just announced they are not going to produce it after all (bad decision by VW). Right now I would have to say I am looking forward to the re-styled 06 model Z as my next car. Probably in the same "always looks reasonably clean" silver that I have now.
