Beat me to it. You know the red and black NISMO race car they showed. There are pics on here somewhere. I think they are in one of the galleries. Anywase, Im not sure how happy Nismo would be to build one for someone just to play with but they are the cars that they plan for someone to enter ALMS or another series. They weigh like 2420 pounds and have Ginormous (yes this is a word, or it has been since like 2 seconds ago) brakes and wheels. Not to mention a big ole carbon fiber wing. Not exactly a street legal car. 3.6 liter v-6 450hp. Thats all the magazine said really. They quoted it as costing 75grand for 'privateers' which generaly refers to race teams. You could try to buy one though. I know if had 75 grand lying around I would buy one. Put some less street ilegal tires on that beast and you have one hell of a grocery getter. When the cops surrond your car and tell you that you are driving a race car on the street, just tell him that it was originaly a stock 350z and the engine is um, stock. Or RUN, because with 450hp in a 2400 pound car you could outrun their helicopters. I vote Tako buys one!

I know of a guy who is trying to get Nissan to sponsor his race team. He says that they simply give him the shell, and he has to do all of the engine work. Perhaps that is what the $75k goes toward. I just can't believe that you could buy a full-on GT spec racer for $75k. Perhaps he is talking about another series though?

A few years ago Nissan had to scrap their racing teams to avoid going out of business and now that they are coming back stong they developed this race version of the 350Z for the Nissan sponsored teams in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They will be competing in the GT class against Porsche 996 GT3R. They will also will be made available to privateers around the world. (American Le Mans Series?) Now I wonder why they have developed a color named Le Mans Sunset
