Thumbs down Crappy "Drilled Aluminum Pedals"

Is anyone else annoyed with the crappy pedals nissan purports as drilled aluminum. Look closelely at them and you will see that it is merly a rubber pedal with a thin drilled aluminum veneer pressed into it. WTF!!!!!
These pedals are realy a peice of sh*t. Why did we get them as a supposed upgrade???? I contacted Nissan to complain and their only response was "sorry, that's what we called drilled aluminum". I equate this to them saying.

Please, sombody make some 'real' drilled aluminum pedals for our Z's.

Wow, that's interesting. I hadn't looked closely at them. Could it have been a cost issue?

They are just pedals and they suite their purpose just fine. I am tired of having to wade through all these useless threads to find scraps of good information.

Remember how much we are paying for the Z. $15K lower than some European cars with similar performance. Get real, everybody has to make some money to stay in business. IMHO, I think the Z is one of the best bang for the mony.

My point is that Nissan should dliver what they promise. All literature, and window sticker state "cross drilled aluminum". I did not know rubber was a component of aluminum.

And RACEBOY - The pedals SUCK, they do not suit thier purpose just fine. My feet when dry or wet, grip pedals with drilled holes in them much better than the smooth flat surface these POS pedals have. Useless posts are a matter of opinion.

I've had no problems with slipping on the pedals, whether they be wet or dry.

How can a solid piece of metal with holes drilled have more grip than a pedal with a metal veneer and raised rubber spots?

That is why tires are rubber.

If you dont like the pedals, then buy REALLY expensive ones and stop whining. While you are at it, why don't you buy a $200k car so that we don't have to read your dumb complaints.

Hey perucho kiss this
My main point is I want to get whats advertised, and what I paid for. Everybody shined about the door handles, to me the pedals are more signifigant.

I think the pedals suit just fine. They might not be the best aluminum pedals, but it's good enough IMO. They look nice enough to make most people that look at your car go "ooo" and "ahh".

I'd rather have more rubber and less foot-slippage, personally.

no offense but you are nitpicking!!The pedals are fine, you on the other hand were still testing.Seriously that is so minor Im suprised you started this thread. The worked perfect for me and if they are so bad go out and get the race pedals you think are so grand. These pedals are the same quality I saw in is300,wrx,rsx-type-s.Sorry if im being blunt but I really hate whining on this board.

Exactly!! My MR2 Spyder was exaclty the same. It's purely product liability.

Sounds like the same pedals the S2000 has. I haven't gotten my Z yet. Car must be pretty good if you are bitching about the pedals.

Hmm, maybe everybody would be happier with the all rubber pedals available in the base model.

I agree with mydogscool, the pedals are CHEAP! Nissan should have said simulated drilled alluminum pedals.

Examine the car and you'll find a lot of cheap parts. But it's not a 40k + sports car either.
