How about a Kills/Racing section?

How about a Kills/Racing section?
First off I know what some people are going to say - street racing is illegal and highly dangerous. While this is true, people are still going to do it, and they are going to post threads about their kills. So why not just put it in its own section, this way people that are against street racing won't have to be bothered by those threads, and kill stories won't be filled with preachy whining.

Kills is fun, but after awhile it gets old. On honda-tech, the Kills section used to be legendary... however, with the influx of n00bs and stories about how their GSR could beat an M3 got old fast. Now Kills is occupied with a bunch of non-Honda people who are accepted, but really don't have any Kills to report (especially since everyone flames street racing [for good reason]).

I'll admit I was in the grumpy mood last night. No, I don't think we need a kills section. Yes, there are kills being posted but at least in the vast pool that the general forum is, it doesn't get touted. One of your comments set the tone for me, "it is being done". So are a lot of other things but do we need forums for those. No. Just my feelings. Does it mean anything really to win a street race? What you are seeing though is the community that this used to be not lend credence to a kills section in order to preserve this site.

We have one on s2ki.com, and I have it. Lot's of immaturity, chest thumping, and exaggeration (I'm guessing) there.
IMO, a kills section would encourage street racing, which is a bad thing IMO. Aside from risking the public's safety, more claims will = higher ins. rates for all owners.
Make a track day forum so you can boast about how the Z does against all the other cars on a road course...that's its natural environment, and a much safer, more acceptable one at that.

Bad idea I think. There's one on the Acura-cl.com forum and it's always full of threads such as "CL beats RX-7" or "KILL: Porsche 911 turbo" or "My CL beats Micheal Schumacher in his F1 Ferrari today!"
First of all, street racing really isn't the best idea. I know that many of us, me included, have stepped on it in non-ideal locations (ie. not the track), but in reality, it's not the safest thing and we as a forum probably shouldn't promote it.
Also, in general, many of the posts in such areas are really inflammatory and oftentimes fiction.
If somebody wants to put something in the General forum, I wouldn't want to remove it, but I'm not sure we should have something dedicated to it.

The intelligence and maturity of this forum again gives me great pleasure. A Kill section becomes the old Penthouse forum. Is that still around? Is the magazine still around? God, I am really old. Anyway, anyone can claim anything with anonymity on the Internet as in Penthouse. It means next to nothing what one can conger up in their dreams.
Here's my take on this:
Every car forum I have been involved with will eventually have its share of useless drivel and crude behavior. It is almost a given, and I think there is no way around it. Hey, its the internet.
That being said, I really like the idea of a kill section NOT because I would ever post there, but because it separates those types of posts into an area that I can choose NOT to visit.
