Hello to all. I am new to this forum and also a new Z owner. I recently traded in my S2000 for a new Z. I was a member of S2KI.com, the biggest S2000 forum. I thought you would enjoy my last post on their site.

Don't you feel like you just completed one of those idiotic make-over shows? Do you realize how much better looking you'll be driving a Z now. Women (and men) will just stare at you, no longer in disgust, but in total envy.

I made the same switch and have never looked back. I guess I was never really a droptop guy. That said, the issue of dealers claiming "I don't know anything" is actually much more characteristic of Nissan than Honda in my experience. But try not to think about that and just enjoy the ride.

btw - it's nice to confirm that other cars have problems too. sticking around this place with all the bitching and moaning you'd think it's just the z!

 

It is not just the Z. Look at RX8, STi, EVO forums and you will see. This is why I am very leary of purchasing any first year model car. I don't want to beta test a car. As for the Z, it is a lot of car for the money, IMO. Hopefully, my Z will be trouble free.

I've only had the "normal" issues with my car (Tire feathering, window streaking, Bose amp replacements) but have enjoyed every minute of it for the past year and a half Hope you have the same luck with your Z

 

PERHAPS I LUCKED OUT - JUST DROOLING FOR 18 MONTHS BEFORE PURCHASING. GOT MY 350 IN FEBRUARY - AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS - NONE OF THE WINDOW SMEARING, RATTLES, NOISES, ETC I HAVE READ ABOUT (IT'S AN 04) . HAD A 300ZX I PURCHASED NEW IN 1990 - TRADED IT IN ON A MAXIMA AND WAS SORRY EVER SINCE. I PROMISE TO KEEP THIS ONE A LONG TIME!

I have to agree with you, after reading that post on the S2k site I love my car that much more. It gets kind of depressing in here at times with everyone ragging about what a piece of $*** their car is. It has it's problems but hopefully in time they'll get worked out, I'm just glad to know that had I bought any of the other comparable cars I would be in a similar situation, and the way I look at it, any situation is better when you're in a Z...

The main reason that the bulk of what you read on here is problems that people have is because that's part of what this forum is for. For us to help each other with problems. For every one person that has problems with their Z there are probably 10 that don't....and people aren't going to start threads about how they don't have any problems with their Z....hence...all you hear is the bad stuff most of the time.

 

Yeah, my Nissan dealer loves pretending like they don't know what's wrong with the car. I took it in there twice for tranny problems. "Worked fine for me."

*Sigh* ..l., <-middle finger :P

 

Wow, not too much "hateration" over there... cool! s2ki is a good board. Hope that you don't have any problems with your Z... read the board archives for a history of Z problems.

He should not have any problems. I have not heard of ANY 04.5's with tranny, tire, or other issues. Mines PERFECT!
