VW quality is "much better" than the Z? Please. I had a 1999 VR6 Jetta, and the passenger seat rail broke (!!), the glove compartment lid broke, the center armrest lid broke, the battery died prematurely, I had the MAF sensor replaced, the ignition coil pack replaced, the coating on the interior plastic panels peeled off in places, etc. I loved my Jetta, but I lost faith because of its continued unreliability (and the apparent cheapness of its interior trim pieces).

My 18 month old 2003 350Z has been virtually problem free. All the carping about the interior of the 350Z is, to me, silly. In my opinion, the much vaunted VW interior is overrated, especially when, in my case, the interior parts break off in your hands.

However, to each his/her own.

you had one of the first MKIV's ever made. The R32 is built much more solidly, and there have been no complaints in the vw forums

so r32 is like vw's evo or sti except it came out later, costs more, is normally aspirated, and is a lesser performer (with nicer interior)? still cool that vw would release a car like that.

audi tt is 250hp? why is it so slow?

I disagree. I have a buddy who bought a GTI about 5 months ago...less than 4 months old and it's spent over a month in the shop. He got so irritated that he sold it and bought a Jetta 1.8T. That also turned out to be a POS, which was subsequently traded in for a Honda Civic. That's right, a Honda Civic. BTW neither of those cars were modded.

My mistake I still rather have the TT handling is beter and performance to 60 is about the same. 6 flat.
