Default Air bag light flashing - I removed the seat.

How do I stop the light from flashing? I removed the driver's side seat and I guess it spotted a fault. If I leave the negative terminal off of the car overnight, will that do it?

might have to take it to the dealer. I did the saem thing when i got the GS4. I was hing the floor and decided to remove the seat. Then the airbag light is flashing. Removing the terminal from the batteray didn't work for me.

Damnit, so the dealer reset it for you? How do I avoid this in teh future? If I remove the neg terminal on the battery, and dont turn the car on when the seat is disconnected, will it still happen?

Anyone else have a solution?

my crap airbag light is blinking also..

the reason why is the iginition was turned to "ON" while both/a seat was missing...

just keep the car off while you work with seats out...

i tried all the old resets (door switch x7, etc...), no go

btw, my amp install is well worth my blinky light... SA people can see it tomorrow.

If anyone figures out how we can reset the light without the dealer, please do post.

Yea, its hard to do yourself, but that's why for stereo installs if you remove your seat you don't turn on the car if your seat is disconnected.. you wait till the seat is reconnected before you power up the car or the light goes off.

Default airbag light on...

Anybody have any updates on anyway to turn off the airbag light if you have removed your seat and then turned the power on? I just had some work done at a stereo shop and now my light is blinking.

Awesome...do you know if this is something where they just plug something into a plug and reset it electronically, or do they have to remove parts to get somewhere difficult?

yes..it seems that it is a bad idea to remove any thing and then turn the ignition on. I, in fact, did not even remove the battery for fear of the whole stupid light coming on.

Disconnected battery, removed seats, re-installed seats, connected battery, Air Bag is flashing. Has anyone figured out how to get the light to stop flashing short of taking it to the dealer?

When I removed my seat I did not disconnect the battery, I just kept the key out of the ignition, disconnected the harnesses and pulled the drivers seat. No problems at all....the seat was out of the car for about an hour. I wonder why others are getting air bag lights? Bring it to the dealer...tell them you were vacuuming under the seat and you must have hit the plug.....who knows maybe they will fix it for you out of the goodness of their hearts doubt it, but you never know. Good luck.

there was a post a long time ago on this board about fixing this problem. It had something to do with turning on the ignition in a sequence and depressing the gas pedal a certain number of times. I'll see if i can find the orginal post. Also if i remember correctly the light will be reset if you disconnect the battery for 72 hours, or after 100 times of starting the car. Sorry my memory isn't exact, but i'll see if i can find all the specifics.
