I've been thinking that for a while, now for my $.02 
I'm not a racecar driver, I can't afford to drag race at every light, and to be honest even if I could I'm not sure I'd have an interest in it. So when I buy a car, it's looks are what attract me first and I just can't bring myself to like the way the RX8 looks, and I love "everything" cars, regardless of brand. Maybe it's because that monstrosity is what replaced the RX7, now that was a beautiful car. Maybe it's because the car is just too flashy, the Z is so much more subtle, and so much sexier. Of course as with anything else it's all a matter of personal opinion.

Its a 4 door family sedan with no *****.
I test drove one and after 45 seconds, i turned around back to the lot.
Its a junky car.
The worst is someone called the 350 a "girls car". ROFL do they realize the RX-8 is one of the biggest chick cars ever made? It goes hand in hand with a Miata and Z3.
It look like a girl should be driving it.

I love the Mazda 6 and 3. They are good looking cars IMO. I think Mazda's line up is looking pretty good. I just do not care for the looks of the 8. Not because it is a sports car. Not because others try to compare it to a Z. I just think it is an ugly design.
The RX-8 is a better car, a more innovative car, and has a higher fun to drive factor than a 350Z Roadster.

I only have one thing to say. Any company that has overstated the power from their engine once (miata)is bad enough. But to do it twice will raise anybody's eyebrows. Their testing process must really suck.
